has to be the factory code because everybody has it apparently and this guy below was able to locate a manufacture date on the case box of July 8 2023.. you should check out your box and see what it shows in this location :

it's always on the top of the filter but you need to be in very bright lighting or shine a flashlight on it.

I just checked some that I have of the PLXL.. I have been using these for years and every code afaik has started with the 17MHM... The two I have right now are 17MHM2240.

Looks like they possibly have a slightly modified label and brand new base plate design on that PRC 10575 . First one I have seen out of China. Here is the previous design and you can see Korea on there where as yours looks like it says Pentius USA.

One of those factories there in China uses this style of construction... I assume under facilitation of PG for this filter and possibly Highline Warren for Prime Guard but it looks obvious that it is the same factory...

Well it's a basic jobber filter so those numbers are appropriate but at least it is still better filtration than Mann, Mahle and Hengst.

they are almost all 99@40 . but some people freak out over this brand like they found some gold or something LOL.
