    Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse HT

Good to hear. I have been kicking around getting a set for my F150. It's >$300 less than a set of Michelins which is a compelling price difference.

Has anyone used an aftermarket valve body for the Subaru TR580 CVT?

I have not used the aftermarket valve body but i did use the Dorman Solenoid. It's been working fine for 18 months. My take on your situation is the aftermarket valve body probably has no name solenoids on it. So if you are trying to be frugal, just buy the Dorman Solenoid for $50 and install...

Does anyone here without a garage use a pop-up canopy tent?

Yes, I have a 12x12 menards brand EZ up. Use it for outside projects, working on the cars, pulling weeds. Just move it as you go.

    Best/Worst A/C Performance in a car?

My 2017 crew cab F150 has really good AC. It's a XLT without rear vents. Have to turn it down it runs so cold. Cools the big cabin fast and easy even just idling. Our subaru seems the have worse performance at idle vs. Driving around I'm assuming this is from airflow over the condenser.

    3-Row SUV for Midlife Crisis

The best 3rd row that will fit adults for an extended road trip is going to be a Van. Buy a nicer and cheaper 2 row SUV or Car. Rent vans for your road trips. You probably won't take more than 1 per year anyways.... Or Buy a a nice conversion Van. They have Chevy, Ford, and Merc...

Coil compressor for McPherson type strut

The clamshell ones are useless! At least for me me it was. I have the Maddox Macpherson style and have done a couple vehicles with it. I use my impact to compress them. Don't go crazy, compress them gradually and evenly until the pressure on the top hat is released. You can make the same...

3/4 Ton Gas vs Diesel vs Tundra

Agree and a diesel is probably the least economical choice for OP. Between higher inital purchase price and maintenance costs. It would be way overkill for OP situation.

3/4 Ton Gas vs Diesel vs Tundra

I believe Tundras have Coilspring rear suspension. The half ton Chevy or Ford with rear leaf springs will do better towing. There are a whole bunch of F150 configurations rated to 9k and even >10k towing. I have a 2017 f150 rated for 9900lbs towing. My camper is 7500-8500 loaded. It does...

    Auto insurers and older cars

OP - don't forget to negotiate the payout amount. The insurance company is lowballing you. Look up pricing, argue condition and miles. Tell them your not satisfied etc. You might be suprised when they all of sudden change the condition from B grade to A grade after a little pushback. It...

    Auto insurers and older cars

Idk, to me your winning. Small body damage, nice payout and you keep the car. You're driving free courtesy of someone else's error. Life is dropping the lemons right in the juicer!

    Auto insurers and older cars

Take the payout, keep the car. Have a indy beat it out, bondo it, and spray it on the cheap. Pay them directly, none of the insurance BS. Drive around a "free" car
