    Quick Performance Ring & Pinion

Actually I have contacted them. The kit for my Firebird has an adapter to use the GM 8.2 ring and pinion in my BOP 8.2 housing. I think the gear set in the link is an offshore setup.

    Quick Performance Ring & Pinion

The only source that I can find a 3.08 rear end ratio for my 1968 Firebird rear end ( BOP 8.2) is through this company. https://www.quickperformance.com/GM-82-BOP-Buick-Olds-Pontiac-Posi-Gears-Bearing-Kit-Package_p_23027.html Has anyone used any of their ring and pinion kits? Were they quality...

What are you working on today?

Dropped the gas tank on my Firebird and replaced the fuel sending unit. Upgraded to one that includes a vapor-fuel return. Absolutely need that to drive it in this hot weather.

Blew Up My Dad's MTD Lawn Tractor

Although everyone has their own opinions but those Briggs engines of that era were bad to blow head gaskets. Just enough to actually pull oil from the crankcase into the cylinder. Smoked like a freight train. I’m surprised he didn’t fix that.

    Most reliable used simple/basic vehicle

I really doubt anybody from your area is looking for any car much over 10 years old due to rust. Fortunately where I live rust isn’t a problem. These older 4 door GMs were probably Granny and Grandpa cars here in the South. Lots of life left. Even when they were new, young folks did buy them.

The position of #16 would be the engine water pump. Removing it for media blasting and paint is the only way to take care of it.

2012 Volvo Penta 300 V8 C-A engine raw water engine

I qualify this opinion as being labeled a dummy but personally I like the Volvo pump system more than Mercruiser. My Four Winns had the Volvo 351 Ford. Quiet, smooth, efficient, and fast. A 24 ft bow rider is too much boat for just me. Everyone quit going to the lake with me. Wife-“too hot”...

    Gambling with non-OEM brake pads?

Replaced the pads on my GMC Sierra with “Genuine Delco Pads”. They’re from China and create dust on my wheels. I really don’t think it matters too much which brand-friction materials that are chosen these days. You really don’t know where they’re made and the quality. The Autozone pads used to...
