I wouldn't use Dexron VI. It's a little on the thin side in my research and my liking. Mercon and Mercon V is interchangeable with Dexron III. I've been using SuperTech Dex/Merc in the 4Runner. The next round will be Mobil1 ATF which is in all my vehicles except for the Dodge.

Nope, that's not what code says.

All external, or separate ground rods/systems, must be bonded to the service entrance ground. It's code world wide.

Over 90% home lightning damage comes in through the power mains. I would ask the electric company to check their grounding system at your pole and the service entrance.
