2011 Camry Drain Plug too tight! Dang you Toyota.

Good advice... Where were you before I started! :ROFLMAO: Actually, the fastener was clean; using a Snap On socket Allen is about as good as it gets. The hex depth is too shallow; 6mm is too small and the material is too soft. I believe later plugs used a 10mm plug. Regardless, even though I...

2025 so far EV sales up 28%

From Google AI: Tesla doesn't release sales figures by region primarily due to competitive strategy and a desire to maintain a consistent public image. Breaking down sales by region could reveal vulnerabilities to specific markets and provide competitors with valuable insights into their sales...

2025 so far EV sales up 28%

I think what's important is information from sources other than the manufacturer. Manufacturers will claim, and show numbers to support those claims, that make them look good. But without detail and a knowledge of financial terms and documents, it can be smoke and mirrors. They all do it, so...

2025 so far EV sales up 28%

Yes, but GM, for example, Mickey Mouses some the values to appear EV profitable. You have to understand financial statements to glean real information. Everybody does it somewhat differently. I generated financial numbers for a billion dollar company under SEC rules. The CEO and CFO are held...

The numbers come from vehicle registrations, not Tesla financial reporting.

I guess know-it-all jerks drive all kinds of cars, including EVs. :ROFLMAO: I've had my share of verbal black eyes here on BOB over Teslas and EVs in general. I don't get it, but it's all good. Each to his/her own. I've learned a lot about EVs via our 2 Tesla purchases. But you can have any of...

    1965 442 value guidance

A 2 speed trans depends on a wide torque curve, which Oldseys are known for. One issue is the "switch-pitch" torque converter control; parts are no longer available. Perhaps @clinebarger or @Trav can better explain their functionality better than I, but it acts like a higher stall converter...

Sorry, I did not mean "give it away". The car has special place in my wife's life; it was her tie to her father. It is important to me that someone appreciate the car and keep it original, but a sale is a sale and what the next owner does is none of my concern. I started this post to get...

Thanks to everyone who posted. I am not shooting for some sky high sales price; this sale possibility came up from the car show. But is is probably time to sell. $15K is a good number, but I am not sure what to do. Maybe check around a little more. Dunno...

I put the build sheet under glass in a frame for safe keeping. It's around here somewhere. The car was Sue's tie to her father; they used to wash it weekly. He was a tall man so she had to clean the whitewalls. Even though I am retired, it seems I am busy all the time; no time enjoy the Oldsey...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I'm not sure I meant biased; I meant uninformed; ICE is so ingrained in our lives. ICE is the standard. I am saying EV charging; living with an EV, is not what I thought it would be. And I believe what appears (at least to me) the common impression is not accurate, at least for most use. Yes...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I suggest 99% of the ICE owners who drive equal amounts of mileage as I do in my EV spend sooooo much more time (and $$) fueling up in comparison. I think people have this misinformed image in their minds about EV issues, particularly charging. I know I did. Range anxiety is common. I...

Another electric car almost out of power.

Exactly. Peak numbers are like peak HP; it only counts at limited RPM which most drivers will rarely, if ever, see. A flat torque curve is far more useful especially in a daily driven vehicle.

How do we know how far these people are driving per day? Regarding 10 minutes (or 20 - 30), each to his/her own, but I have learned to hate gassing up. On the other hand, I haven't driven over 500 miles in one day much in a long time. Last time I drove from San Diego to Los Gatos, that little...

    Is my Drain Plug Loosening?

If there were no leaks, it was oil tight. That's what's important. 30 #ft is good, I imagine I end up with a little more than that by hand. I don't buy the idea the warshers are bad. If you wanna try 35 #ft, I won't tell anyone.
