How to become a regional airline pilot ?

Right now, hundreds. It's temporary, and hiring is happening but at a trickle.

Those metal palm trees...gross. Otherwise looks like a nice setup.

Another involuntary credit card being closed- Lowes/ Synchrony

Makes sense. The most available credit I've ever had was about 80k (between 2-3 cards) so I guess there is some unknown threshold where an increase in credit starts to ding your score.

Another involuntary credit card being closed- Lowes/ Synchrony

I'm aware that it's just one piece of the puzzle. I'm not sure what would qualify as "unused" available credit. Like I mentioned, I keep one card open simply because it was my first line. I put one charge on it every 2-3 years only when notified that the account will be closed due to inactivity...

Financial graphic comparison of buying a new or used car

Here's my take on new vs used, and why I'll always buy used: you get more bang for your buck letting someone else take the initial depreciation hit, period. Here's an example that I just priced out: New 2025 Honda Pilot Touring: $50.5k Used 2024 Acura MDX with 17k miles: $51k Personally, why...

Another involuntary credit card being closed- Lowes/ Synchrony

Age of credit lines is calculated in your score...I believe FICO uses an average age of all lines and Vantage looks at oldest line. In both cases older is better. I believe having a credit line 20 years or older is the only way to get scored as "exceptional" in that category. My oldest line is...

    Mowing lawn when wet?

I also avoid it and let it go long and then bag if it's too long to mulch like normal. But, if you have to mow wet I would imagine that side discharge is your best bet by far.

Integrated LED dusk to dawn lights

Are you saying your existing bulbs are installed in standard fixtures? If so keep doing what you are doing and just buy bulbs. Much easier than having to replace entire fixtures periodically. The units you linked aren't particularly attractive either, IMO.

No unimportant jobs- school bus driver

I've worn nothing but crocs before...so can confirm this statement. Back to the topic at hand...driving a bus sounds like a great retirement gig as long as the kids are respectable.

Cars that come with a pre wired trailer harness connector

Meaning, regardless of whether or not it is equipped from the factory with a tow package? Specifically an interior hidden harness, or are you asking about any non body on frame vehicle? I had a 2008 Highlander with the tow package that had a 4 pin harness under the cargo floor. My 2014 MDX with...

O’Hare close to dethroning Atlanta as America’s busiest airport

An airplane moving on the ground is taxiing, not driving. Hence the confusion.

CEOs: AI Will Wipe Out Some Jobs

I think "forces" is appropriate considering the amount of useless degrees and dead-end career paths there are out there...although obvious to some clearly others can't see their folly. Assuming someone has the aptitude to learn a skill and master it...I agree that not everyone should be expected...

Home for someone who is a trust fund baby or a tech gillionare

Outside of a couple of the bedrooms there is not a single place in that whole house that looks like a cozy spot o be on a cold WY winter. The excessive space and vast open concept is cold.

CEOs: AI Will Wipe Out Some Jobs

Hopefully AI forces an increase in folks looking at the trades. I see it as a good thing that more people may be forced to possess a true marketable skill to get a decent job.

sauna or hot-tub; for aches and pains

A sauna will be less maintenance, and arguably more convenient as it is inside. Hot tub will need chemicals and you need the right place outside to put it, including power. Dry saunas are pretty popular here and people like them, but hot tubs do wonders for relaxation.

How to become a regional airline pilot ?

Yes, but I don't fly for an airline. I'm a manager at a flight school so I fly the desk most of the time and I get about 200 hours a year in the air...sometimes more. There is a very temporary slowdown that has lastest about 9ish months now in hiring at regionals and ULCCs, but on a macro scale...

How to become a regional airline pilot ?

Sign-on bonuses for FOs at regionals have basically disappeared as they have more applicants than needed as opposed to a few years ago. Base pay is still considerably higher than it used to be. Outside of regionals, ULCCs (Allegiant, Frontier, Sun County, etc.) will also hire pilots directly out...
