post your latest transmission lubricant change.

I pulled a gallon out of my 47re in my old dodge. Replaced it with valvoline dex/merc. The truck has a shudder on lockup that had been getting worse. The fresh gallon certainly improved its behavior. Pan drop/filter and fresh fluid are coming up.

"Valvoline Leads Innovation for Off-Highway Engines with Launch of Valvoline All-Terrain"

I ran a white bottle valvoline 15w40 from Walmart for years. I was hoping that's where this allterrain would show up..... it's been on their website for months. What's the cost per gallon and where do you find it?

Phillips 66 fleet supreme dirt in the bucket

This is an excellent advertisement for not prefilling the filters. Like most here, I haven't seen anything abnormal in the bottom of the bucket in hundreds of gallons.

Delvac, Delo, Rotella, or Kirkland 15w-40

There is another thread on here about hpl engine cleaner. People use "spec oil" from a lube shop and end up with a coked engine. Oil is being reformulated nearly annually. What's wrong with looking for reviews on recent oils?

Maybe I should put this in the humor section Empty shelves everywhere, today I read "..... power outages in china are going to cause more shortages...." sweet.

Could be. Even though rust doesn't go to magnets very well, old rotting engine would be a good test for it.

Rethinking 5w-40 vs 15w-40 for my low use diesels

I had a 21 degree start a couple weeks ago camping. In my well worn engine, it took a while to register pressure. I'm going to try 5w40 this winter.

MerconV vs atf+4 vs dex 3

Emailed Kendall(certified mercV) what they would suggest detailing what I had and wanted out of the fluid. They sell tes295, dex3, UTO, and mercV. Holly responded: "VersaTrans ATF is the closest match to what they call for in the 47RE, which is the Mopar ATF+4. If you can get the VersaTrans...

I would wager a nickel your last oil change (3/14/21) was gen2 in a 8600es bottle. 2018 voa of the same oil had 1k+ zddp. Nice to see low wear rates from the new formulation.

MerconV vs atf+4 vs dex 3

All of these can be used in my 47re. The builders say dex3, some want lubeguard added. Mercon v manufacturer says it will work. Atf+4 is oem spec. Tractor fluid is what drag racers and truck pullers run. The trans is based off a 727, it will run on lots of fluid, including type f. I'm going to...

Valvoline Premium Blue One Solution Gen2

All the manufacturers are going towards one size fits all. I'm not a fan. I have an old diesel, it is nothing like a 2021 with roller everything. If someone does a UOA with this, I'd like to know how the wear compares.
