    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

Where does the M1 Hybrid 0W-20 fall in relation to ESP? Descriptions and som discussion with extra additives to help combat the short runs, not getting to full temperature etc.

New motor at 32k? Good they did it, sad it had to be done.

Definitely on my list to try soon. I just have a bunch of other stash that needs to get used up still, I'll see what happens. I got the car in November '20 with 49k but don't recall carfax details if I got them. Since then it's been M1 and PP, various versions/viscosities of each. A few others...

    Post your latest oil change

So my son just came home for the weekend with my Accord and I'm doing my normal pre-trip check/fill things before he goes back. I'm at just over 4300 miles on this OCI with just over 120k on vehicle. I just added 1/4qt to top it to full line, he added 1/2 a short time ago. That puts me at 3qts...

2021 Hyundai Tucson - Daughter-in-laws vehicle. 26102 on vehicle, 2332 on the oil, almost 7 months. Slight fuel odor to it. Out - Mobil FS 5W-30, OEM filter. In - 4.25qts of VRP 5W-30, OEM filter, Filtermag on filter. Not a lot of junk on the Votex drain plug but enough to ask why IMO with...

Brand recommendation for Power tools (drill, small impact, screwdriver) for apartment?

Side note. I had to repair my daughter’s mirror/frame/hooks for her bedroom today. There was 24 little ¼” screws in it to remove. ½ way through I’m like WOW that M12 driver is so much lighter than my Ridgid 18V and would be nice to have…….. We'll see in future.

    Post your last tire/wheel purchase

Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT in 225-65-17. Replacing worn to 3/32 Falken Wildpeak AT Trails. Coopers I think feel a bit softer on the crappy roads. The Falkens were less than 4 years old with about 30k on them. They wore very evenly and stayed quiet the whole time.

    Post your last tire/wheel purchase

The tread pattern looks funky to me from the first time I saw them. One of my employees put them on his Tundra and was very happy.

Nokian Outpost APT or Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail for '16 Renegade Trailhawk?

Need to get the Renegade washed up when rain stops and maybe some tire shine for a better picture. 225-65-17 Cooper Road + Trail AT. He's very happy with the look. I didn't notice any issues on the 5 mile ride home around town. First opinion I'd say they were softer on the bumps and crappy...

    Dumb lug nut question

I bought 19mm conical tapered lugs for my Accord summer rims. The rims are from a Hyundai and had 21mm head on them. For my lug wrench and jack it's 19mm factory. I had to get the conical taper as the factory Honda ones have a ball seat on the lug. I have the opposite set in a box by the tires...

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

BITOG sacrilege. I RETURNED a 6 pack of 5W-30 Mobil 1 black label, triple action to BJ's. I was going to use it in daughter-in-laws Tucson. I decided I'm going to use VRP in that instead before she goes away to Virginia in a month. I was going to go to WM and get a bottle but then it started...

Cleaning the engine bay very regularly is the best approach

I think either Eric the Car Guy or South Main auto showed the parasitic drain on a battery from the dirt/moisture on top of it. I spray Simple Green a couple times per year all over it and then rinse with regular hose. Doing that lets you see when you are starting to have any VCG issues or...

    Auto insurance

@ARB1977 - For your son – look at an older 4 door, 4 cylinder unless when you plug in details all the newer safety things compensate via discounts. Expect scratches in school parking lots not necessarily from him. Both my kids had that issue from others. What they got wasn’t what they wanted but...
