    Amsoil Euro 0w-30 EOT VOA

Hmmm. Let’s turn the temp down on this. But, in my defense: My comment that Amsoil EOT had high Virgin oxidation was meant as a positive. I wasn’t bashing their oils, certainly not this one…on the contrary. I’m recently seeing more comment of the high oxidation relating to ester content...

    Amsoil Euro 0w-30 EOT VOA

well…..what exactly has Amsoil said about this…lately? They have become (or maybe always were) pretty secretive. People look at Amsoil, HPL, etc pricing and desperately want to know why they should fork over the extra money. In earlier post(s), I tried to show why I thought Valvoline Premium...

    VOA- Amsoil SS 5w30

there’s this VOA, and then there’s @SynOilFan ‘s VOA of Amsoil’s new EOT (Euro 0w30). This VOA from Blackstone, and the EOT one from Oil Analyzers. Though I really appreciate both posters providing these, it would be nice to have a more complete VOA on all oils. Notice OA shows...

    Amsoil Euro 0w-30 EOT VOA

Oxidation - 30 Finally some proof that Amsoil is still using some Ester???? at least somewhere?

    VOA- Amsoil SS 5w30

Sorry, I know it’s been 2-3 weeks, but I wanted to push back on this a bit. I was under the impression cheaper VII’s / VM’s can lose their effect more than just temporarily. Also, some oils may rely on the VII’s more than others. There is the extreme example of HPL’s no-VII line on one end...

Castrol EDGE Euro Car 5W-40 A3/B4 API SP

I’m sure everyone will be fascinated to hear what Walmart.com just shipped to me (SARCASM). Regardless, here it is: * Qts of Euro 0w30, pink label, no BMW (LL1) cert, made in Belgium, 23201 date code (July 2023) printed as expected. No mention of Titanium on the front label, but “Fluid...

Castrol EDGE Euro Car 5W-40 A3/B4 API SP

I guess that shows how old my stash was. My UOA’s always showed 40-50 ppm Ti. I should have some new bottles arrive in a few days. We’ll see what the label says. Of course, we’ll also see what the date codes on those are…though I’ve forgotten how to read them (Castrol). Could be fairly old...

HPL no VII pcmo 5w30. 3.5k miles. Big turbo Fiesta ST 175k miles

This suggestion would mean more if it came from @High Performance Lubricants instead of me, as I am just a hack, but I would consider trying the NoVII EURO 10w30 for shts &giggles…since money wasn’t mentioned as a constraint. It might last longer (more viscosity headroom against fuel dilution)...

    VOA- Amsoil SS 5w30

I get confused about when Subaru went direct injection. I had assumed all F motors were…but maybe not. Back on topic, sort of: i don’t know my Mustangs. @relentless044 : Is it a V8, or an EcoBoost? I’m running Amsoil SS for the first time in my 3.5 EB, but won’t know how well it does for...

    Subaru Wheel Bearing?

Modest lowering. Bilsteins all around: Bilstein bts5025 springs which I found by accident, but at the time the full BTS kits were ~$2500 plus mounting pieces, so I “cheaped out”…a little. JDM rears were revalved by Bilstein, and the fronts are the B6 aftermarket for SpecB Legacy. Cobb rear...

    Mega 75w-90 testing thread!

IMHO, the Amsoil still looks great. Of course, the HPL is also great, especially the non-CC version (Which is a bit odd the CC version isn’t just as great). The Motul is the “thinnest” great one, so could be the “go-to” for 75w-85 requirements. I ended up NOT sending a sample to Suby, so can’t...

Motul Gear 300 & HPL Differential Life 75W-90 VOA comparison!

OK thanks. I just thought I’d check, as you mentioned starting a new thread…thought maybe I’d been left behind

    Subaru Wheel Bearing?

07 OBXT manual 5-sp. stock engine, but modded suspension. i really want a more “adult” car, but don’t know what would keep the grin, while maybe being a more relaxed long-distance cruiser…oh, and affordable.

    Subaru Wheel Bearing?

I should have noted that my Subaru is not in that TSB universe. I personally held a stethoscope to wheel bearings (after initial left-rear fix) and quiet there, of course, the backing plates might not howl on a lift. But the center diff was growling/howling. Maybe not the viscous unit itself...

Conclusions on Ecoboost Engine Oil - Gas Turbo Direct Injection

I May start my own thread on this in the UOA section, but i had hoped to add to THIS discussion with my own 3.5 ecoboost partial UOA history. MY interpretation is that fuel dilution ramps up quickly the quality of the oil can matter; obviously viscosity does as well. MY interpretation is...

Conclusions on Ecoboost Engine Oil - Gas Turbo Direct Injection

What is this supposed to tell us? You (or someone) said this was for port injection? And the elbow in the curve is over 9,000 mi. One would think if they were trying to compare mineral to synthetic, they would have had an interval 4 with short-tripped mineral oil. Conversely, if they were trying...

    Subaru Wheel Bearing?

I’m glad yours is fixed. I had a highly-thought-of but not Subaru-specific suspension shop replace one rear bearing, and the sound did not go away. Drove an hour+ to the closest indie Subaru shop, and they think it’s the “transfer bearing“ or whatever hangs off the rear of the tranny toward the...

    RIP Charlie Munger

I used to work for a company Berkshire bought. We were not torn apart or any portions sold off. Instead, they prompted management to seek out competitors to buy, whowe acquisition BRK would fund, to increase market and pricing power. I know they were always looking for bargains, but more to prop...
