That's excessive for a maintenance dose and I wouldn't do it too often. Maintenance dose is 1/3-1/6 oz/gal.

The issue with averages is that some states have a wide range for cost of living...with some obvious examples: NYS, Washington State, FL, etc. Bottom line is things go farther in LCOL (Low cost of living) area and consider how a state taxes retirement, etc.
