    F1 The Movie

My wife and I are done with theaters. I hate not being able to control the volume of something I'm watching. The last movie we saw at the theater was, "Open Range". The audio was horrible. The music was just blasting, but you could hardly hear the dialogue. When it's aired on television it's...

    F1 The Movie

What did you think about it? It looks good, but I'll most likely wait until I can view it at home. That's what I did with, "Top Gun Maverick".

Getting a new engine from Hyundai

From 1:00 to 3:30 he discusses the Hyundai and Kia engine issues, in regards to them recommending too thin of a viscosity, in relation to their ongoing engine replacement program.

Getting a new engine from Hyundai

I would go to 0W-40 and 3,000 max. OCI's and filter, on the new engine. Go with a good oil like Mobil 1 European Car Formula. Walmart stocks this for under $30.00 a jug.

Anyone Here Own A Dueling Tree ?

I've been playing around with the idea of getting one for handgun shooting. It would eliminate the need to set up and then take down paper targets. And would add a little more fun, as opposed to paper punching. It would also cut down on the amount of crap I have to haul to the range. I could...

Thermostat opinions - Lower Set point for Summer

I switched the thermostat in my truck from a 190 to a 180 years ago, and never looked back. It runs noticeably cooler on the temperature gauge.

oil filter change interval for 7.3L PSD?

Can adding a small amount of 2-Stroke oil to a large amount of diesel, (say a cupful into a large semi saddle tank), replace the lubricity lost with low sulphur diesel? Or would that compromise the EGR system? Or whatever system large semi's use these days.

Walmart removing self checkouts, reported results include significant reduction in theft

There are people who do it for the excitement it gives them. Much like adrenaline junkies. It's not about the money, it's all about the thrill. Many professional gamblers are much the same. Winning large sums of money doesn't drive them. It's the action itself. These people will sit at a table...

Walmart removing self checkouts, reported results include significant reduction in theft

They caught our Postmaster shoplifting at our local Walmart to the tune of $74.90. Imagine losing a good paying government position like that, for trying to steal just $75 bucks worth of common, everyday crap. Stupid on steroids...

If a boomer wears these items they are outdated

I would rather be caught wearing all 10 of those items, than having my pants riding 4 inches below my underwear. With enough room in the crotch to have 2 watermelons for testicles.

    King Air sticks the landing…..

All this brings to mind Carlos Dardano. Who managed to land a 737 full of people dead stick, on a muddy levee, in bad weather...... With only one eye. So many things to consider besides age. And if I am not mistaken, he was forced into retirement not long ago. (I think he just turned 66).

    King Air sticks the landing…..

I'm not saying you're "wrong" per say. The rules are as they are. And I would like to think they're made by people smarter than us. But personally if I am boarding a plane, and glance into the cockpit as I'm doing so, I'm going to feel more comfortable seeing a bit of grey hair on the guy in...

    King Air sticks the landing…..

Yes, but I don't necessarily agree with it, simply because there are too many other factors that govern health and ability besides age. As I pointed out in my previous post, you have people in their 70's who are healthier than many 50 year olds. It takes a lot of years and flying hours to get...

    King Air sticks the landing…..

For the record I'm 72. Two weeks ago I went to my cardiologist for my once a year, "evaluation", after taking a slew of yearly tests. He told, and showed me that all of my results, EKG, Ultrasound, blood pressure, cholesterol, Echocardiogram, etc. were all excellent. We talked a bit, and I...

    King Air sticks the landing…..

Left engine died, and he turned into the dead engine.... Most likely at low airspeed and altitude. "The pilot lost control of the plane while turning left". It could have been a lot worse.

oil filter change interval for 7.3L PSD?

Does anyone produce an additive for diesel fuel that replenishes the sulfur content, or something similar to achieve the better lubricity that was provided by the older higher sulphur diesel fuel?
