Best shocks for cushy ride in half ton truck

Agreed. I put a set of B6 struts and shocks on my E350 when the original shocks wore out. They are tuned to give a little of that sports car feel, but at the same time give a nice luxury car feel. I like them better the car better than what it felt like with the original struts/shocks. But...

In-N-Out ... changes in food dyes and condiments

So you would rather that they don't make their fries fresh several times every day? It's good that we are all different. I personally love their fries. My only complaint is the tiny fries. But that's what you get, when they go straight from the potato slicer to the deep fry.

Pigeons and solar panels- waiting for the invoice

I've seen netting that is put under the beams in a large covered outdoor patio area, so birds can't nest on the beams. Would it work to put something like that around the sides of the solar panels? Is there some other method out there, to keep birds from nesting under the panels?

What are the good filter brands these days?

A few weeks ago a friend asked me if I knew if NAPA was running their Filter Days sale. I told him yes, but also shared that it was my understanding that Wix no longer makes the NAPA Gold filters. When my friend went in to NAP to stock up on filters, he asked the NAPA employee about this. The...

Brake Fluid - Biggest Neglect, Biggest Benefit

When maintenance is done at a proper interval, it is done before things degrade to the point that we notice a difference. If you wait until things are so bad that you can tell the difference, you have waited too long. Better late than never. But much better early than late. There is no...

    Aftermarket Subaru Blue Coolant Ok?

I used a Lisle radiator funnel when I did the flush and fill on my wife's Outback. It worked pretty good.

    Aftermarket Subaru Blue Coolant Ok?

No. I can't remember the exact year, but the additive hasn't been required since around early 2010.

    Aftermarket Subaru Blue Coolant Ok?

I did a fair amount of research and decided to go with Zerex Asian Blue coolant for the Outback we used to own. I had no problems at all, and would have no qualms with recommending it for the right application.

    Housing inventory by state

Is Texas still a heavy "move to" state? If yes, perhaps contractors are building huge amounts of homes to fill the market demand. And it seems to make sense that homes on the market for new move-ins would inflate the overall homes for sale in Texas. IDK. Just speculating.

    GM aborting move to 0w-40

Agreed. But it isn't just the Takata airbags. I'm struggling to recall, but I know there was another similar issue before the ignition switch.

What $615k USD buys in Douglas, WY

Here you go. Save $70k, gain 4 acres, still get your river view and the bonus of an outbuilding for all your Hooptie projects. And the real benefit of no one close enough to care if you turn the music up a little loud, while tinkering in the shop...

    GM aborting move to 0w-40

GM has a long history of knowing they have a defective part, but deciding to use them in their cars anyway. The most recent that I can think of was the ignition switch fiasco. No, wait. Takata airbags. Then ignition switch. At least this latest one isn't resulting in lost lives.

Wife using rolling seat around planting beds - is that allowed?

A smart man will find one that his wife likes better than his. The one that @Nukeman7 listed looks like a good candidate. But you have to be careful. There may be something about yours that she likes. Maybe it's just the right height? It would be a shame to buy her one that you think she...

What $615k USD buys in Douglas, WY

In looking at other homes for sale in the Douglas, WY area, this one does stand out as overpriced, considering the square footage and property size. But parts of Wyoming does tend to demand high real estate prices for a couple reasons. First, if you do a Google Maps look at the area North of...

Are license plates referred to as "tags" in some parts of the United States?

Here in Utah, they are referred to as license plates, sometimes abbreviated to plates. The proper term for the year/month stickers are called decals, but most often referred to as stickers. When I lived in South Carolina and Kentucky, license plates were commonly called tags. This was...

    oil filter tightness question

I just recently sold the last car I owned with a spin-on oil filter. But I have been spinning on filters for most of my 68 years of life. I have always only hand tightened spin-on oil filters, following the 3/4 - 1 turn after gasket contact method. I have never had an oil leak at an oil...

Euro specialized indy-mechanics all seem to use LiquiMoly?

From what I have seen, Liquid Moly is noticeably cheaper than Motul and the Euro versions of Castrol. And it has the advantage, along with Motul, of being a lot easier to find here in the U.S. Of course there are other motor oils that meet many of the Euro specs, such as M1 Euro and...

Using seat-belt inertia lock to stay put for performance driving....how can't this be safe?

Shouldn't that read "A 5-point harness will prevent submarining . . ." My understanding of submarining is when an occupant slips under the lap portion of a seat belt, with the hips and legs going towards the IP. You mention a harness preventing submarining in a rollover. I guess I'm missing...
