Need building solution for covered patio addition

You can get these metal patio covers in kit form, I'd call it a DIY project.

    E-bikes and thoughts

100% FTW. If it will move without pedaling it's an electric moped. A throttle makes it not a bicycle. Have to ask, if you're e-assisting just enough to account for the extra weight why not just ride a regular bike?

Lighted exterior concrete steps in new construction- have to give a thumbs down

This situation is common in the SW - an occupied house sitting on a dirt lot with no landscaping, defined driveway or walkways. Not just new construction either. Those lights shining right in your eyes as you approach are going to make it harder to see the steps at night not easier.

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

We can read it but can we understand what it says? JB's explanations of these events are understandable to non-aviation people.

Need building solution for covered patio addition

Or take off the gutter to the left and attach directly to the fascia and have it run flat to the right. Have the high gutter slope to the right downspout. 18' might be too much span. Don't know your location and possible snow load but it looks like moss/algae on the deck and railing so maybe...

Need building solution for covered patio addition

Something like this could probably be used. Attach above the 2 big windows. Some have no slope. You'd have to be a bit creative where the downspout is but should be doable.

Our town has citizen patrol "officers". I think a requirement is they have to be over 70.

Home insurance rate changes since 2021.

How does that work out? Say your house is worth $500k and it burns down, you're paying to rebuild out of pocket. Vs a yearly insurance premium, how long to pay the insurance company the same amount as you paid out of pocket? Since you must have the money available to rebuild even a modest...

    3-Row SUV for Midlife Crisis

No vehicles to add just want to say nice to see people willing to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Nothing wrong with being able to afford nice things. (y) Also curious about the full size man OP's wife wants to sit in the 3rd row?

    How to tax EVs

Use tax is the fairest. Any flat yearly fee penalizes low mile drivers, ICE or EV. One would think there would be a way to log and report miles driven only but not track the vehicle.

Over 70 and still wrenching your own vehicles

Pipes won't help getting the tires back on the truck. I use the usual tricks but have to be careful of my back. Yeah, brain writing checks the body can't cover. 😣 Keep moving you old goats, do what you can.

Recommendation on getting dog photos cropped

I would have left the cars and erased the garbage cans..... The AI added dog isn't bad but the lighting isn't from the same direction and there's gravel in the loop of his tail not blacktop. What website or whatever did you use to do that? At one time I used Photoshop professionally. It's...
