I was a victim of road rage

The city of Phoenix is among the worst in the nation for red light running and red light crashes. As a result, Phoenix has decided to bring back red light cameras to be positioned at the worst intersections. There will also be some cameras that will be moved around to different intersections at...

    Gaming PC Advice

My grand-daughter built a PC (with my oversight) to play Roblox and Minecraft. https://www.logicalincrements.com/games/minecraft shows Minecraft performance on PCs at various price points. We built a custom system equivalent to the Outstanding Tier ($1500) to make sure she would not outgrow it...

    How old is your spare?

A 5th gen 4 Runner stores a full size spare under the vehicle. After 12 years my spare was oxidized and micro cracking. I bought a new, unused, stock spare tire and wheel from a guy that upgraded his wheels to install larger tires.

    Alternator Decoupler Pulley Came Apart

A genuine Toyota 4Runner remanufactured alternator doesn't include the decoupler. It has to be bought separately. Did you buy a reman alternator from Toyota for your Camry? Did you test the decoupler for smooth operation when the reman was installed? There appears to be a lot of dirt inside...

    Dell 1-800 support number

I think your processor is OK. I have not had any problems with Intel processors one step above yours. I built 2 PCs using 13th gen i5-13500 retail processors, one PC last February and the other last May. One PC has been updated with microcode BIOS and the other will be updated shortly. No...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

I doubt CCN has had RCA training. I sent an email to CCN to find out if Toyota gathers failure information from experienced and certified Toyota mechanics. I included very brief descriptions of other potential root causes for head gasket failure. If CCN has connections with Toyota, then perhaps...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

"If the problem takes 200,000 miles to manifest itself, is it really a design flaw?" Yes, It's a design flaw for other reasons. If your measure is to simply make it to 200K miles, then it's not a design flaw to you. However, there are Toyota customers who want and achieve more than 200K miles...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

It's unreasonable to expect CCN to warranty parts and labor even if used parts are barely in spec in situations where there is obviously a design issue confirmed by multiple instances of where the block was either well within spec or out of spec. Now he has a situation where the block is barely...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

In my opinion, in this case, a manufacturer spec on block flatness is no longer the deciding factor in a decision to warranty this repair when this is clearly a design flaw that leads to thermal distortion in this particular location in either the block, cylinder head or both. I'm wondering if...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

I'm a CCN fan. I also think he rambles in this video probably as a result of having to discuss this type of expensive repair over and over again with many customers (a stack of 10 bad head gaskets and four vehicles in the shop with head gasket symptoms and many others.) I think most of his...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

The Car Care Nut is customer focused. Other mechanics or service advisors would likely steer this customer towards a repair to make money whereas the Car Care Nut is willing to fully disclose to a customer all possible outcomes and costs before turning a wrench. CCN is willing to lose an...

Car Care Nut -Why you shouldn't wait 100k mi to change coolant on a Toyota UR series V8.

CCN has to inform the customer that (a) the block and head might be within spec, or (2) the block is in spec and the head not in spec, or (3) both the block and head out of spec. So, if you are a customer who wants to keep the car, do you spend the money to tear it down and find out if the...

Have you ever stopped along the highway and picked up a stray 5 gallon bucket?

I picked up a like new 5 gallon plastic fuel "can" while driving on a city street where I could pull off into a nearby side lot. Would I stop to pick up a bucket? No, no, no.

    12,200 miles on Fram Ultra XG10158 cartridge. '16 4Runner VR&P 0W-20

I once received a "free" cartridge style STP oil filter for my 4Runner with purchase of oil. I measured the height at 4 locations with a machinist caliper, compared readings with the OEM and quickly decided to not install the STP filter. I don't remember the measurements. It was too many years ago.
