My manual transmission Subaru Forester will stay in warmup ~1800 rpms until 120 coolant, which conveniently living in a place where I can neutral for a half mile to mile of driving before having to use power from the engine allows it to reach 120 coolant while coasting in neutral at 1800 rpms...

It did improve. No pictures before/after. It still has plenty of varnish

I take care of a 2012 Odyssey my friend who drives a lot bought used at ~80,000 miles with heavy varnish. It has seen only Mobil 1 0w40 FS and oci longer than 15,000 since he bought it. It eclipsed 300,000 miles the other day. The engine will outlive the rust on the van.

Switched dads 180,000 mile 2016 Forester TR580 cvt to HPL cvt fluid. Noted right away the smooth cold temperature improvement, even compared to genuine subaru fluid changes prior. Went back and did another HPL fluid drain and fill on it after a couple miles.

Filter media wicked. Looking clean and odd spec of metal here and there. Quite pleased with this filter and HPL pcmo 5w40.

Fyi Subaru updated the forward bushing in the front control arms mid 2018 forester. Foresters made after that date have updated bushings and any parts bought currently for replacement arms for 2014-2018 cars from subaru parts department have the updated bushing as well. The throw out bearing...

I have also just started using B12 in the gas tank every 3rd tank as recommended on back of bottle. Curious if this will help, just like OP.

Larger PCV valve part number 11810AA200. Requires larger hose and modification to existing hose from smaller pcv valve. This greatly helped my 2018 Forester FB25 6mt highway oil consumption which spikes after 3,000 miles of age on the smaller pcv valve, and 10,000 miles on the larger pcv...

A convincing test for me or display of evidence besides oil consumption changes would be seeing piston rings before and after test, say on an EJ subaru. I would remove a wrist pin access plug, rotate the engine by hand to the point of seeing the rings. Before and after pics.

My 424,000 mile 2006 Outback has been in the family since brand new and I've been the only one to touch it besides the dealer for recalls. Car has been solid overall, but the most reliable stretch has been 250,000-present. Repairs after 150,000 are absolutely worth it

Extras of oil filter on vehicle with Baxter adapter

Oversized carquest premium 85626 in use on my 2018 Subaru Forester with the FB25 and a Baxter oil filter anti drain adapter. Changed oil filter after 10,000 miles. Oil will remain in use. Oil is HPL pcmo 5w40. I am impressed with the quality of this filter. I will wick filter and update

Better late than never. Surprisingly not much carbon to see from this extra wicked, 28k oci filter. It doesnt scrape out of the pleats easily. Odd bit of metal here and there. Impressed with this Honda

I did notice the flashlight test shows no light when pressure is applied to the bypass valve similar to when in the can.
