M1 AFE 0w-30 seems to perform quite well DI and turbo engines based on several UOA posts. While it's not as good as the ESP variant it seems like it doesn't shear down as quick as it's 0w-20 AFE sibling. Last oil change I switched to Amsoil Signature 0w-40 in my 2024 L84 Sierra 1500 with 12k miles. I too was concerned with all this L87 talk. My engine now has significantly less valvetrain noise and MPG is roughly the same. If it's good enough for the LT4 and now L87 with recall it's good enough...

Very nice results! Viscosity looks great for a so called budget oil. I wouldn't hesitate to run this oil in my L84 5.3 following the OLM for the typical 5000-7500 mile runs. It's interesting how the formulation works. This oil has roughly 2x as much moly than Amsoil's OE and HM offerings.

VRP as of now holds to to their claims to cleaning. However I’m really disappointed in the 500k mile tear down comparison video with Valvoline EP. Basically made me steer away completely from switching to Valvoline.

On a side note I'm curious who makes the EOAM line for motorcycles. Look like a wix filter.

I just run Amsoil dedicated V-twin primary and transmission fluids. Very easy to find neutral and shifts smooth. Their V twin oil change kits are awesome. Very pleased with results in my 05 twin cam 88.

It’s too early to tell if it was reformulated or just recertified.
