Premium guard based filters are the way to go currently. Advanced auto parts carquest premium, orileys microgard select, PG XL from rock auto etc. i’m done with US filter manufacturers.

i run HPL oils so i don’t think i need anymore wear protection (5w-40), i just needed something to swell up the old valve seals.

i would’ve tried anything other than lucas to get the burning to slow down.

i have it in my car now. my oil consumption has gone done substantially. it will only burn it if i let it idle for 10+ minutes now.

M1 0w-40 (will shear down to a 30 and stay there for a while) or M1 0w-30, it’s pretty shear resistant. HPL NO VII 5w-30 will do the best at resisting shearing minus fuel dilution.

all made by premium guard^ they’re the best value in filtration right now with excellent efficiency to boot. i run them 12k miles in industrial fleet service.

i feel this product is for when the engine is past top tier oils keeping seals pliable. im using it in a 400k+ miles accord to keep it from burning oil via valve seals.

it didn’t though, the ADBV hardened up and allowed the oil to drain back causing VVT rattle when started

my car normally burned over a quart/1k miles. i checked my dipstick yesterday and it’s still overfull…. i would say it did something.

2015 6.7L power stroke 181k miles in service 2 years put the same filter back on the S&S disaster prevention kit.
