    Special kind of jerk.

The motorcyclist may have been doing an illegal pass but they pose no clear or present danger to the old man. If it were me I'd push for attempted manslaughter Or at least Reckless endangerment. I wouldn't stop until he lost his car, his license, and if he had a house I would push for that.

Tracking Down Vac Leaks w/ Smoke..

I hear if you have the jury rigging perk you can make one out of a pint paint can, a toaster, some scrap fittings, and a 2 psi max air regulator If you're car has an evap port, snap on sells the female end for $50

Cartridge filter housing leak - Toyota V6

How tight are you geting it? When I do them I just tighten it until it seats, hand tight. At my shop there is always some teething pains with new techs who "know better" than to listen Those filters will have threads cut into the gasket if over torqued. The gasket will roll if not lubed. If...

    so i feel kinda dumb

So, 4 years ago I traded a neighbor a working snowblower for a dead jeep wrangler. I threw a yard engine into it, and started to fix all of the issues little with it, while I drive it. Its always had this weird grill guard hoop thing that seemed to be made from solid metal. It also didn't ever...

I am not giving up my drain plug

I don't know, maybe its just me, but I've done a 90 second oil change. Granted it took a guy with the right amount of oil, sitting in the engine bay, but that spill and fill was 87 seconds tires off to tires on the ground. Rotate too. That's what happens in the dead of winter when you have 6...

I suppose I could sell it, but I don't know what it would even be worth. I do like the idea of a secondary trunk

i inherited a small trailer... what to do

I inherited a small 3x4 trailer. 8 in wheels, wood deck, stake pockets, and its kinda low. I could rase the deck and maybe Strech it out to 4x5, but as it sits its kinda useless. Does anyone have any creative ideas on what I could do with it? I thought about a gear storage/ chuckwagon setup for...

what electric fan switch should i get

Hayden makes two economy electric fan switch kits, 3652 which makes use of a set temp switch to flip a relay, and 3653 witch uses just a mechanical switch, that is adjustable. Would you trust a mechanical switch for a 25 ish amp electric fan?

What brand oil do MIDAS oil change places use?

The Ntb I worked for used a bulk form of vwb pumped in in 5 20/30. They ordered 55gal of higher grades. Midas got bought out by ntbs parent company so they are probably contractually obligated to do the same

Constant Misfire but no CEL 96 Maxima

Some cars are slow to trigger. Take fords for example, they are notorious for not throwing a code for it. Cars misfire all the time, but it takes a constant miss, that exceeds the preset threshold before the memory buffer runs out. To do a proper diagnostic, I'd need a scan tool with live data...

    The Mystery Rattle from ****

Strut mount is a good guess, strut can do it too, rotor heat shield can do it, Also check sway links, sway bar frame bushings, and the ends of the sway bar themselves. Gm made the sway bar hollow, with a welded seam along the length that's been known to crack

98 Camry - Am I being stupid repairing this car?

Nah, filler pipes rust out. Iirc they are really exposed to everything on those. If you have the tools $200 to slap pads and rotors into it is cheap. If not its a $350ish at my shop. We also charge $106 an hr The filler neck is like $200, so with parts markup and labor $500 seems like a...

    Semi Metalic vs Ceramic Brakes

Its kinda personal taste. I like semi metallic for the higher initial bite. Nao and ceramic have too smooth of a progression, and feels like you have to press the pedal harder than natural for a desired result. You'd probably be best off with a performance brand like ebc or hawk.
