    Greasing polyurethane bushings

The JBR rear anti-roll bar on my Mazdaspeed 3 used polyurethane bushings. I used JBR mounts with zerk fittings and greased them at every oil change with Super Lube.

    Dealer add on prices.

I sold my 1999 TJ last October for $3,500- and it needed some serious repairs to the frame.

Interesting fluid temp observations on our ‘24 Carnival

My C43 can display oil and ATF temperatures on the IP. The highest oil temperature I have seen is 210 F; I haven't seen ATF temperatures over 185 F.

    Post your latest detail

I spent part of the afternoon cleaning up the C43- in particular the interior; I accept the fact that it's going to get dirty on vacation but once I'm home I want to detail it sooner than later.

    2028 Toyota GR86 replacement!

I spent a good bit of time looking for an F87 M2C with three pedals and no hole in the roof. I may yet spring for an F87 M2 CS. I detest the Lego/Minecraft exterior design of the G87 M2, and it weighs as much as my C43.

Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

Todays trip back from Hilton Head; The average speed is very low due to being stuck in stop and go traffic for over an hour. I did bump it back up having a bit of a play with a G12 Alpina B7. Its driver was being charitable as the B7 had the C43 beat on top speed by 50 mph...

New Battery-powered Lawnmower - Misleading Marketing

In addition to my Stihl gas powered equipment I have an EGO push mower, leaf blower, and chainsaw. All 3 have been very reliable and I like the fact that they all can share the same battery.

    2028 Toyota GR86 replacement!

I bought my first mid 5 second 0-60 car eighteen years ago. I followed up with a mid 4 second 0-60 car a few years later. My current car takes 4.1 seconds to hit 60- but a mild tune should knock a few tenths off. And my wife drives a real "rocket"- blasting from 0-60 in a. scorching 5.2 seconds...

What was the first car you worked on regularly?

I worked on my mother's Maverick and my dad's Bronco in the '70s as well. In 2008 when I bought my 2002 all those long forgotten skills came back remarkably quickly.

A personal auto ownership history story to share

A great story. I had a couple of friends who owned Corvairs; that was the era when GM was really adventurous and innovative.

What was the first car you worked on regularly?

It was a 350 2v. I wanted bucket seats and a console; it was the end of the model year and pickings were slim. I was swayed by the R&T road test that complemented the European handling characteristics- and I couldn't afford a Bavaria (until 9 years later). Anyway, I couldn't leave it stock...

    Inherited a 2017 Cadillac XTS

Nice car! I have one 4x4 with true off-road capability. I like it a lot but I have no interest in owning a CUV- I plan to drive either coupes or sedans for the foreseeable future.

    Rental review Genesis G70

Even if I preferred it to my C43 I wouldn't want to deal with the Genesis dealer in Louisville- so that would be a hard pass.

    2025 Jeep Wrangler Rental

As I've noted elsewhere, when given a choice, if the Wrangler's off road abilities aren't needed I'd rather drive my C43 or Club Sport- but I certainly don't consider my JLU Sahara 4xe to be a penalty box. It ticks all the boxes for me; I prefer driving it to 95% of new vehicles under $50,000...

    Whats so great about Jeeps?

My Sahara 4xe ticks all the boxes for me; I prefer driving it to 95% of new vehicles under $50,000. Exceptions would include the BRZ, Elantra N, GTI, Type R and WRX.

Remember that to be considered a marque expert on BITOG you cannot own, drive, or sit in the vehicle you are critiquing.
