What brakes do you guys use?

Bosch Quiet Cast or Raybestos premium. I’m in South Carolina so rust isn’t a concern.

    2005 Toyota Camry CAF…..yuk

Replaced the engine air filter with a Fram. The cabin air filter with an EcoGard.

    2005 Toyota Camry CAF…..yuk

What makes me mad about it is she goes on about one of her sons helping her take care of the car. I did her last oil change and assumed her statement meant her son has been taking care of everything else. Now I know better. I showed her the filters and she couldn’t believe it. Now she knows.

    2005 Toyota Camry CAF…..yuk

It was Toyota OEM. My wife doesn’t think it was ever changed out……car has 136K on it. She doesn’t drive much. Maybe 2,000 miles a year these days. 83 years old.

Off my MIL’s Camry. I couldn’t believe it when I pulled it out. Did her engine air filter too. It wasn’t as bad. Yikes….

Carquest Premium 84502 order - China & Vietnam

No, these are both Premium Guard factories from what we can tell. I ordered two cases of filter for my two Mazda's and one was made Vietnam and the other China. Both very good, PG filters.

Thermalright Aqua V3 AIO cooler - Radiator dent

Sigh. Got everything installed. Cables routed. Everything looks great. Went to manually just turn fans a bit to make sure nothing rubbed. Heard a small little click from one of the fans. Looked closer and saw the radiator is dented. It's a small dent, I don't even notice it. Must have...

Ford recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to potential fuel pump failure

I have never purchased, nor will I, a Ford. Had a Fusion and an Escape for work. Recalls galore. Brake pads were the dustiest things I have EVER seen. Theres was nothing regarding quality on either of them. Fusion engine blew at 70K. Maintained every 5K. Oil intrusion into cylinder 2...

Super tech full synthetic HM versus Mobil1 HM 5w-30

For your use, doesn't matter to be honest. Pretty low useage. For the Honda (GDI Engine), best thing is frequent oil changes, which you're doing, so, save your money and go Kirkland/Supertech.

Average car Overfilled 1 qt. anyone ever see this cause a problem?

Both Mazdas in my sig call for 4.8. They get 5. Yet, still not to the full line. Have to add a touch more. Roughly .2 quarts to get it to the full line. Sons Santa Fe takes 5.2 quarts to get it to the full line.

    2026 Mazda CX-5 Revealed

The entertainment system on Mazdas has been atrocious. We own two of them and HATE the screen and connectivity. It's buggy, glitchy and just doesn't work sometimes. By far our biggest complaint. Not a huge fan of the big screen on this, but if it improves on what they had before, score.

Cost of "standard" naturally fermented loaf of bread at your local artisan bakery?

This topic is way too bourgeois for some of us in the BITOG crowd. I like my bread with a fist full of velveeta....

My experience with valvoline R&P and oil consumption

My sons 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with the 2.4L Theta II has/or had a small amount of oil consumption. Car has right at 70K now. Maybe 1/2-3/4 of a quart in a 4,000 mile OCI. Valvoline R&P (5W-30) didn't seem to do much after 3 oil changes (around 12-14K miles on nothing but R&P oil.) Changed...
