Average car Overfilled 1 qt. anyone ever see this cause a problem?

I get the impression he's on heavy pain meds (he's said so elsewhere), so consider taking responses with a grain of salt.

    Golf Cart questions

Those along with Zambonis were always a source of great intrigue as axle swap donors ;) Urban legend has it Zambonis may have only had a D44 but airplane tugs may have employed a D70U (desireable). Of course WMS-WMS was always a potential issue. edit: the tugs may have also received the...

    Diesel in gasser Gator 825i

I didn't do it but this Gator was filled with diesel and I believe they tried to start it. Looks like the tank is under driver seat and I think it'll be easy to remove and drain. Other thoughts? Should I pull plugs and maybe crank it a bit to blow out cylinders?

    NAPA Real Deals Flyer

SEE, my thing with that is if you don't want to be a NAPA franchisee, then don't be a NAPA franchisee!!!!!!! Owners like this want ALL the benefits, only a few examples such as -nationwide brand recognition -national advertising campaigns (Sing it: "NAPA know-how NAPA know-how!") -established...

What are you working on today?

2000 Taco had a front lockout failing, making growling chirps and chirping growls when unlocked. Honestly I'm shocked lockouts last as they do without roller bearings. Installed a used unit from ebay.

Choosing ATF for 2001 Prism/Corolla Dexron II Transmission

The Valvoline EP is a little difficult to find at the moment. I have some on order thru NAPA but inexplicably delayed. O'Reilly doesn't seem to carry it at all. RA shows out of stock. However I did find it at my local AutoZone. I wish my WM carried it. I love tacking fluids onto our grocery...

What are you working on today?

I put a new blower motor in my '11 SuperDuty. Normally I enjoy underdash work but this job frustrated me. I think I was just in a hurry. Ford used Torx head screws and I don't know what they were thinking. I was able to replace two with 7mm hex head plasti-screws and I can tell you a socket is...

Has anyone used an aftermarket valve body for the Subaru TR580 CVT?

Kinda like how they didn't want to sell reasonable quantities of their CVT fluid :D

    "Fuel Efficiency Standards Are Dead"

I absolutely agree. The lonely Maytag repairman....although I think he has been plenty busy for the past ~20 years. What bothers me is the hypocrisy or immediate assumption that my "big gas guzzling" truck is "bad" while a "fuel efficient disposable" car is "good". Obviously both are...

    "Fuel Efficiency Standards Are Dead"

This has been my belief, too. We're now building them even less durable IMO. Single cylinders, two cylinders, tiny displacements, GDI. All in the name of "efficiency" but is it efficient if it's disposable within a few years? Where's the honest talk about "carbon footprint" (or pick metric...

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

Meh, I think that's 1) partly application-specific and 2) partly urban legend. If the pedal going to the floor destroys an mc that seems like a safety issue to me. There'd be no point in dual-circuit brakes because if you lose EITHER front or rear, yeah, you're gonna kinda-sorta have brakes but...

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

This happens often. Don't feel bad. Many calipers are the same casting and you can see the blank where you'd drill and tap either way to dictate left or right. I've often thought it might be cool to just have all calipers tapped for both. Then you couldn't install on the wrong side and...

    New tool thread

I had a Honda roll in with crappy aftermarket wheels and stock lugnuts. My thin wall SnapOn flip socket has striations etched into it and marred two bores. Until now I've never needed the "wheel saver" sockets but had O'Reilly bring me a PowerTorque in 19mm. No real reason on brand except I...

    NAPA Real Deals Flyer

Just knowing their corporate mentality, I'm guessing they start by telling you to pound sand. If you push it they likely offer a bottom end ratchet. I ordered some Valvoline EP ATF a week ago. It claimed they had it, but two days later I got an email saying the order was delayed with no...

Well, I don't wanna take a mechanical-ish thread too off course, but presently 62 on 40 acres. Absolutely no breeding or selling - we accept only animals that need a safe place to live. We are NOT involved in the Colo wolf reintroduction program presently stumbling along, nor do we do anything...
