Alternatives for Toyota rubber plug - parking brake adjustment

Ok, my Toyota dealer actually picked up the phone (seriously twice in the past the front counter transfers me and it just rings like 50x then hangs up on me) They don't stock it  but I got one ordered for $7.48

2011 Subaru Impreza - Drive Axle Replacement

Also IME if you need a beater daily driver, these Subarus are fine. Buy stock in an oil company because you'll be adding at least a quart every 1k The issue becomes they seem to reach a point where they need brakes, CV boots, a wheel bearing and at least two struts all at once. We'll ignore...

What are you working on today?

IME the bottom end house brands have fewer needles that are larger and poor seals. They're often worn out in less than a year. Since they're ALWAYS greaseable (sigh) you might be able to prolong life with ULTRA DILIGENT greasing (like once a month), but no one does that. I think it's a clue...

Alternatives for Toyota rubber plug - parking brake adjustment

2015 Highlander -- rubber plugs for the rear WMS to access parking brake adjustment. Looks like OEM is 47491-22020 Is anyone aware of anything equivalent from a more accessible source like O'Reilly or AutoZone etc? @The Critic

That sucks, my O'Reilly often stocks Spicer non-greaseables which is my preference. But yeah, you gotta use whatever you can get your hands on.

Looks like an Astro copy? Check reviews. If no good reviews of the OMT, read reviews for the Astro. Supposedly the pin breaks. Get the CTA 8881. Looks like Performance tool may offer a copy as W83052 but I have never handled the PT. Read reviews of the CTA on Amazon. The first several are...

    Complaint about aftermarket parts

I do think most indys would agree at least ~15-30% of their time is spent battling aftermarket fitment issues. If they're like me, you tend to forget it -- in truth I think my brain represses it as a survival mechanism. Otherwise I'd just give up, sell all my stuff and join a monastery high in...

What are you working on today?

Attached scrap "wood" sheet to my ATV jack with trailer decking screws and replaced my water heater. This really made it drama free and after one back surgery I'm in no hurry to need another.

Supposedly pre-mix comes with deionized which is even better. Less chance of that electrical/water science-y stuff happening ;)

I used it here, too, and my little tractor was just able to unweight the rear of a pickup that couldn't take a wheel due to broken studs Post in thread 'What are you working on today?' https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/what-are-you-working-on-today.331303/post-7078399

    For Chrysler/Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Minivan Owners

One of the coolest hacks on some of the transverse motors is to fish the p/s pump out by the high pressure line and drop it back into place the same way. I did this either on a '94 or an '03 -- can't remember now!!

What are you working on today?

Pushed a dead JD Gator in the shop. Diesel put in a gasser. However I was psyched it had a front receiver and my homebrew push-a-ma-jig earned its keep yet again: Pulled the wheels from a '17 Taco and found one center cap hanging by a thread (I know this was Discount). Impressively, this...

    Diesel in gasser Gator 825i

Ok well I dunno how other guys would do it, but I pulled the tank (PITA) and poured out every bit I could. I was then able to tip it, see in the fill hole and mop out any remainder with long pliers and a shop towels. Then I sloshed some gas in there and repeated. I reinstalled the tank and...

Average car Overfilled 1 qt. anyone ever see this cause a problem?

I did just do a '10 Honda Crosstour and best info I could find was 4.5. I put in 4.5 (eyeballing a new 5qt jug, so there's human judgment and visual perception involved), fired it to fill filter (I did pre-fill a little), let it sit ~25 minutes and checked the dipstick. It was very decidedly...
