    Got my kreen

We have used kreen in many different types of engines. It is the bomb for sure. Always keep a can on hand, and use it in both the gas and the oil per instructions. In some older, high mileage vehicles it is nearly magical....

    Fuel Dilution Pontification

One thing to remember is that on this board, despite a lot of discussion, I have yet to see any real damage to anyone from fuel dilution. And no offense intended, but smelling fuel is nothing. You should know your new gen Hemi dumps tons of fuel in at WOT, really goes pig rich.

Ad Astra space movie is ridiculous

Just the trailers kept us away. I figure I have already seen the best parts, therefore I don't need to go to the movie theater and endure the idiots and the sticky floor!

Having a mechanic check out a used car

Take the time to ride with him if possible. He can drive the car there and get to know it. As long as the car is sound his mechanic will tell the truth. Just beware that the mechanic can also help beat you down on price.

Building a 383 stroker boat engine

I vote for a pro built engine. Find that killer shop with the street rep and they will take care of you. BTW, a 383 is just a 400 crank in a 350 block. Just needs a few tweaks and makes a very torquey engine. Since we have a 3rd gen machinist in our family we no longer try to cobble one up by...

    My Catch Can Is Working.

since there are literally millions of vehicles running well without one it is obvious that a catch can is not "needed", but it can help a loose engine stay cleaner in its intake manifold. Lots of the early DI threads about deposits in imported cars said catch cans did nothing for deposits. Note...

Did/Do you work more than 40 hrs on a regular basis

I have been both an employee and a business owner. As an employee you may be forced to do whatever the boss says. As an owner you will work much harder initially but later on you may find some freedom. I work 4 days a week because I want to, I love meeting my clients. It wasn't always this way...

Porsche wants 50% of its sales to be fully electric or electrified by 2025

Anybody seen a late model Porsche lately? I have a pilot buddy who has bought two in the last two years. One is a beautiful little red Boxster and the other a Cayman S. Both were expensive, and both will pass even the most stringent inspection. Fit, finish, material quality? All perfection. I...

Engine Break-In - Found the answer

I have had quite a few cars and trucks and have always believed in warming up a new car carefully and then let 'er rip! Just avoid first gear and otherwise get on it. Great example is my sig car, many 6.1 owners gripe about oil usage. The dipstick reading never changes on this one, even after...

    Any Vacuum experts? :)

If it is a ball you must check the valve at the base of the handle that switches you from floor suction to wand. I have had debris both block the passage and also simply prevent the seal from diverting the suction to the wand. As stated above, thorough cleaning is the key. Be cautious about...

2002 chevy tahoe 5.3 oil selection

Kreen is a great product if you need thorough cleaning. Around here we have had many a Silverado and one thing I can assure you is the old 5.3 is a great motor. You may have a "slapper" as many folks confuse lifter tick with piston slap. I have had a 6.0 with piston slap last 500k miles with...

Do you use gas brand exclusively ?

Likewise here. We buy a few thousand dollars of gas every month and almost always at the busiest place in town. In my area any Chevron is likely to be a small operation and they worry me because of how old their inventory is. Since we are in Fl tank inspections are mandatory and if you cannot...

    Maintaining Your Jaguar E-Type

What a blast from the past! British Leyland products were all rather maintenance intensive back then, but so were American cars. I owned a 65 Triumph TR-4, which was not quite a Jaguar. But it still required constant tinkering and adjustment to get it to run sharp...
