    Carpet Shopping - Need Advice

We work for several of the higher end carpet stores in the area. Many of them send us out to try and placate unhappy clients. We have seen very young carpets by Karastan that are completely shot on steps, in hallways, and other higher traffic areas. Having been in the floor biz for over 40 years...

How do you help out the less fortunate?

We support a local charity for children with food and clothing. We also try to help the local halfway house which seems to primarily support vets. Typically we give clothing that our family members who work in elderly care get access to when someone passes. No money to street folks, it's just...

    1st 100K mile Tesla Model 3

Anyone who understands the incredible complexity of modern cars can appreciate the potential Tesla has for fewer repairs and little maintenance. I feel certain that they could really last at least as far as drivetrain woes. I have heard they all have a built in computer issue with burning out a...

    2019 Golf R

I love the spunky lil critters, they really are fun to drive. If there was just a tuner to eliminate the stability control nannies I would buy one. But a superb configuration, they can haul your stuff and haul [censored] too!

    Carpet Shopping - Need Advice

Tuftex is an excellent choice and priced accordingly. Karastan is junk now, no longer a good name IMO. Gauge is one of the most important specs on any carpet. The closer the needles are, the denser the finished product. We see carpets all the time that are very young yet texturally...

    Carpet Shopping - Need Advice

Close, but what you really want is many colors. Try for a carpet with multiple colors and the coarsest texture. That's what lasts. I meet many folks who spent a bunch on their carpet and are very unhappy with it....

    Tire recommendations for the Cayman

I have had Pilot Sport 4S's on my sig car for quite a while now. I am always amazed at their ability to keep their grip on the pavement in all conditions. If your wallet permits do not buy anything else. They even ride nicely!

    Subaru Suggestions

hahaha, what is it about BITOG that attracts these characters who come in and then reappear later under a new name? And the previous poster here was right, at startup the oil is thick. Much thicker than the spec. Yet no damages?

    2019 RAM Limited impressions

Nice review. I bet the crappy LRR tires were the issue here. My 14 Ram Sport shipped with Goodyears and they were removed before we had hardly any miles due to the poor roadholding. And I firmly believe many who have a poor opinion of FCA would love a Ram...

    Fuel Dilution Pontification

Perhaps I should have been more specific to Hemi engines with regard to my apparent dismissal of fuel dilution as engine damaging. Virtually every late model Hemi you check will have some fuel in the oil, and it does not appear to do any damage at all.
