The Vredestein looks like a good option.. Think I saw it reviewed in a leading Consumer Magazine. It seems to sell out pretty quickly. Don’t know how quick a warranty claim would be handled due to being exclusive to maybe TR. I wanted a set, but they were out of stock when I needed them.

I think it’s 3 yrs 36000 miles total on the vehicle. Like if they replace under that warranty and it fails a day after they have no obligation to assist. My curiosity is will they consider a battery that tests good a problem if it’s leaking acid. Hoping it’s not a wiggle clause for the dealer.

I would probably replace it at that capacity. It’s usually inconvenient when it fails or cheap to do so as you are at the mercy of what is available. Artic air is coming to parts of the US with windchills in the negative 30s. Maybe stressing the charging system.

The reason is a free battery might cost more if it’s another leaker and destroy other components from corrosion. Engine is a whole other costlier matter

That is my concern is corrosion of other parts. I had a previous Tru start that did similar, but it was a used vehicle and could have been neglected by previous owner. This one has not been neglected. I wasn’t sure how clarios is compared to JCI.
