    The R.P. filters are pretty much the same element type as Amsoil and Donaldsons and Fleetguard. Those filters are state of the art for oil filters. The oil filters flow really doesn't matter in a passenger car motor. Oil filters are really unimportant just so there is one and it doesn't fail.

    Usually with similar base stocks , a 5w-20 will be lighter cold than a 5w-40. What are you exactly looking for and why would the thinnest be important?

    Most all oils today are fuel efficient so there will be minimal difference in like viscosities. drop the viscosity and maybe a .01 or so mpg at the best.

    Why would you do a uoa on the inital fireup of an engine unless something bad is suspected?

    Usually the big diesel engines are idled till the exhaust gas temps are at a safe level to shut down the engine so the oil doesn't coke in the turbo bearings.

    Haven't changed oil in at least 1.5 years...

    My friend does his Ferrari that way and when we did the cam belts and valve adjust last year everything looked good. His engine doesn't get driven always but the oil gets hot when he does. Todays oils are good. you have to take the car out and run it more often.
