    2018 Hyundai Tucson - 2.0L GDI G4NC - Oil pan removed

I have a 2017 Tuscon with this NU engine. I have valvoline change the oil in it with white bottle 10w30 every 3500 miles. Gumout cleaner added with every oil change. The switch from 5w20 to 10w30 has stopped almost all the oil consumption, I maybe add a quarter quart every 3500 miles now of...

Just received paperwork extending my engine warranty to 15 years 150k miles on my 2017 Tuscon with the 2.0L NU GDI engine. I'll keep feeding it documented valvoline conventional oil changes until it stops, or the warranty runs out.

    Been hot in Texas

Yeah the grid has good conditions. Glad I put 20 inches of insulation in the front of my house last year. Much cooler. I'm in one of the few areas of Texas (West San Antonio Hill Country) with drought still, we haven't had a lick of rain.

    2024 GMC Terrain rental

I'd like to get one of these for myself, I commute to the office 3x a week about 30 miles each way and the Tuscon is not cutting it. Need a little more comfort. We don't have kids but I like the size of the Acadia more, and I have no need for a third row either. The 4 cylinder turbo GM has me...

The cost of living in 2024....

Excellent posts above. I echo the technical training route over college in my case. I flunked out of regular college at 18, had extreme anxiety and various home issues. Was told that I needed to enroll in college as part of my parents divorce decree, on my dime. Parents had no money and...

    Guy living in his car

A bit of prayer is needed for the unhoused. I grew in in Buffalo, Ny and rarely seen it. I moved to Austin then San Antonio and it is all over the place. Areas of San Antonio are becoming like California, Austin even worse. Tent cities under every overpass. Many are not from this country...

Time for new brakes, Saturn Ion Redline

Rockauto stocks brembo uv coated rotors for $49 each and pads for $44.79. I would go that way, and you will probably get it for cheaper than the local parts store.

Vehicle feels slightly more sluggish after new spark plug change

I don't gap the iridium plugs either. My GDI Tuscon needs plugs every 30k so I just toss them in at that interval. I use the NGK IX Iridium (cheapest) from Advance auto. I don't buy plugs online anymore I got counterfeit ones from amazon twice, and ebay once.

    John Deere 10w30

i buy lawnmower oil for my deere self propelled only because it comes in a 20oz bottle, allowing for a perfect oil change with no guesswork. I know i'm overpaying but I don't care. I typically use supertech lawnmower oil, and change it once a year. My deere is 15 years old and runs like new.
