2001 ford taurus $999 cad (127,000 miles) good deal or nah

it's got a four speed auto trans & a rather large 3.0L engine. prob. good for another 127k. Although the starter/alternator/waterpump will be going before 200k. Cost of a cheap ride. Check the antifreeze(appearance/strength). And the engine core plugs for weeping.

Why did this wheel stud break? Metallurgy issue?

It's steel, so it was stressed over time from torqueing beyond the intended 80 ft/lbs. Honda is known for using just the right metallurgy in just the right places & amounts on their products. Looks like you found the limit.

    Honda timing belts........

Honda still makes timing belts today! Ford is even worse: they even have an engine where the timing belt is covered in oil! Ford Dealer: "See you in 88k or 108k miles, whichever occurs first."

2004 Solara No Crank No Start

If there is a ground lead with 3 volts, well it won't start on 9.7 volts right? The alternator would be the next place to check, unplug it from the harness & check to see if that 3 volts is still present at the engine to ground. You might have a shorted alternator/bad regulator there.

Does anyone know the fuel consumption per hour when idling a 2016 Honda 2.4 Liter Earth Dreams engine?

.15 gallon / hour with A/C load max it's .33 gallon / hour but you'd recirculate the air & get too cold & back off from max output, right? & I won't share my computation formula . : l

New Engine To Replace 3.5 Briggs?

Briggs Quattro is superior in every way & usually cheap or free when neighbors leave them on the street during scrap pick up in springtime. (usually just loose blade, fouled spark plug & plugged air filter issues) The engine you have tends to have the cowling cut into the intake pipe, which is...

Do timing chain engines have cam and crank seals?

The near-modern 4cyl engines with overhead cams usually feature half-moon cut outs in the cylinder head casting / valve cover gasket seal to allow camshaft removal and timing chain replacement. There's usually a chain 'tunnel' in the interior of the engine front for the tensioner & guides...

Briggs & Stratton 4.0 HP Tiller Issues

my not-so-educated guess would be check the new pointless ignition coil isn't grabbing the flywheel as it encounters the flywheel magnets as they pass by. The ignition coil has to be fastened TIGHT to prevent that. edit: .030" gap between coil armature & flywheel, I usually use a couple...

Cost to rebuild GM pushrod 3.1L V-6 heads?

The only advantage to going local with the rebuilding of cylinder heads will be getting the Bad News about cracks / need for another core. I've shipped heads out for rebuilding & it's worked out fine other than the occasional tweaked exhaust stud thread or two. I've also used a local cylinder...
