Skyactiv Intake Valve Deposits - Photos

Really enjoying my 2017 Yaris with the SkyactivG 1.5L Has a pretty funny looking cat fish front end, but a good car overall. Also funny is how every badge is Toyota, even the engine cover. 65 mph steady interstate gets me 48-50 and city driving 42. Premium gas always though. Watched a...

Any great tips on removing swirls scratches?

Spent around six hours today with my Griots buffer and a container of M205. While it certainly helped to remove very fine swirl marks and some small scratches, it left way more than I though it should with as much effort as I put into it. I used the Orange cutting pad from Lake Country and the...

Now that we will all be huddle up at home

Installing new window and door casings, baseboard, and interior doors to a new and modern style. First time using a miter saw, so making mistakes on miters and stuff, but learning as I go. I really enjoy doing finish carpentry, even if I am not very good at it. haha

Cannot believe the interest rate I got on a 30 year.

I'm pretty pumped. Got a 2.6% fixed rate on a 30 year mortgage for my home. I am absolutely shocked and never thought I'd see the day that a rate like that wasn't a 15 year loan. Wanted to do a 15 year like Dave Ramsey recommends, but just didn't want to commit to such a larger payment at this...

    Cheeseburger pie

Here it is, in all its glory. Looks just like what I ate 38 years ago! Definitely not healthy though. <img src="https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/attachments/usergals/2020/02/full-87213-41426-bisquickimpossiblecheeseburgerpie2.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image"...

What kind of snow blower do you have and what do you run in it?

I run an MTD form the late 90's 24 inch/10 hp (357 cc) with the Tecumseh. It is my snow beast and is great for the end of driveway after plow snow. I also run a Toro 824 QXE with an 8HP (272 cc) for snows of around 6" or less as it a lot faster and lighter to use. I run Mobil 1 0w30 in both...

Tire question anyone using “nankang sp-9 cross sport” or “achilles 122” ?

I have the Achilles 686 All Seasons on my wife's Corolla for the past couple thousand of miles. They do really well in the snow and on ice. We have had a couple of good snow storms and they worked great. They only cost 43 dollars per tire at Walmart.

Are Engine Splash Guards Really Needed?

I like having a fully functioning one on my vehicles. Where I live there is a lot of snow and salty slush. I think it helps not splashing all of that muddy gravely brown slush four months out of the year. If I have one that is ripped off on a used car I buy, I go to Ebay and purchase one and...
