Haha, I was thinking more about a chicken coop addition. ;)

    Stole some Propane

Here are two screen shots to help explain the current status on propane. One is the huge growth in propane exports. Also the massive increase in natural gas production has produced a glut of propane. The spot price of propane has been dropping since the beginning of 2022. Enjoy.

2 x 4 Lumber down by 33% since last summer

I checked my local Home Depot and a 2 x 4 SPF 8 ft long is the equivalent of $2.80 US. That’s down from $4.20 last summer. Are these the type of prices you see? If so, now would be a good time to get that project done. ;)

What would be the best way to do this coolant flush?

This is much like using " sacrificial" coolant instead of distilled water. You cut the distilled water with coolant but you end up draining the rad and throwing it away. It costs more but you get to the concentration you want with less old coolant retained.

It is about that time for some heat

In US dollars per gallon, I paid $2.13 US per US gallon. Electricity is $ 0.10 US per kWh, so expensive propane and cheap electrical power. Almost all of our power is from power dams in BC. Now, by applying different efficiencies to the heat pump I have the price per million BTUs. I also...

What would be the best way to do this coolant flush?

Not sure exactly what year they changed but by 2008 at least, GM did away with the radiator drain and the radiator cap. The cap was now on the pressure tank and you removed a lower hose connection to drain the rad and part of the block. Can anyone confirm if it’s still that way on new GM trucks?

What would be the best way to do this coolant flush?

I believe the OP’s 2017 truck flows coolant through the heater core 100% of the time so it makes no difference if the heat is set to high or not. It uses an electric flapper door to allow heat into the cab.

What would be the best way to do this coolant flush?

I would drain the rad, fill with distilled water, take it for a spin. Let cool. Drain the rad. Add distilled water. Take it for a spin. Let cool. Add 100% coolant. This will get you close enough. There would still be some old coolant in the system but that would be helpful to get the...

Adding a missing trans dipstick to a 2021 GMC HD

There was a question about the transmission vent. There is one. A rubber hose is connected to it and runs above the transmission.

How would you feel on the interstate being followed by a driverless autonomous tractor trailer

One of the concerns I have is that although having the semi go down a divided highway is straight forward enough, what happens when it reaches the city to unload? Typically, the trucking yards have are located where trucks are required to navigate roads with stop signs and criss-cross traffic. A...

    Time for a new battery?

Agree with the load testing but generally if the battery is still over 12.0 volts, and starts the car fine, you could push it a bit more. Once it’s below 12.0 volts, down into the 11.9 range @70 F, I don’t push It.

    New Hurricane possibly forming (Lee)

Here is a good satellite photo of Lee with the coastline superimposed as it approached Nova Scotia. Lee just finished breaking up after it dumped rain on England.

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not too lewd, no gas price pics etc.

As seen at the campground. These “horse trailer” type camper conversions are becoming quite common.

It is about that time for some heat

We’re done with AC and the unit is now set to heat. It’s 36 F this morning and the heat pump is running smooth. I have a cord of wood stacked and a full tank of propane. Bring it on. ;)

My house has LED bulbs throughout. When the heat pump comes on there is a instantaneous flicker. Is there any gadget that can be attached to eliminate this. So far a google search has not come up with anything. Thanks.

Definitely Clarios and most likely made in Mexico due to the volume of batteries Clarios brings in from there.

No disrespect at all, but I see that the OP is from Chicago I think we should check with Leroy Brown. The answer is a 32. ;)

How would you feel on the interstate being followed by a driverless autonomous tractor trailer

We had a semi drive into a school bus up in Canada, killing a large number of young hockey players. The semi driver blew through a stop sign.
