It's Official - the Camaro Will Return in 2008

Yet another almost 4,000 lb. boat on wheels courtesy of GM. I honestly can't fathom how this is the same company that developed the Z06.

    Synthetics are inferior.

sprintman is right on the money. LE know their $hit. Their LE607 gear fluid is the only thing I'll use in my S2000's differential.

Oil for 2006 Honda Civic Si

<blockquote>quote:<hr />Originally posted by Nickdfresh: <strong>And Hondas love a Wix/Napa Gold filter... </strong><hr /></blockquote>Mine REALLY love the OEM "PCX" Toyo Roki oil filter specifically made for the S2000. The construction is night and day above the OEM "PLM" Filtech made filter...

Where would it be "back spec'd" at?

Honda CRX specs SAE 30 for transmission?!?

I do know the difference between tranny fluid and diff fluid. Perhaps I should have specified that the recommendations for the S2000 are a 75W-90 GL-4 gear fluid. I've just always called tranny fluid "gear fluid" and diff fluid...well that. The diff for that car requires an SAE 90 GL-5. So...

Honda CRX specs SAE 30 for transmission?!?

I just picked up a 1990 Honda CRX Si to use as my new fun to drive beater for the next few years. Luckily the previous owner had picked up a copy of the Helms manual sometime during ownership and passed it on to me with the car. I changed out the engine oil yesterday and this afternoon I did...

GC in an Acura Integra GSR

I'm running GC in my S2000 and the Elves scream like they're on a rollercoaster when I go VTEC.

    Oh my goodness...the Toyota guy. I could never forget that wacko. <img border="0" alt="[freaknout]" title="" src="/forums/graemlins/gr_eek2.gif" />

    Overfilled ? 3.5L honda

My S2000 calls for 5.1 at fill or 5.7 at overhaul but I pour in 6 each change and it still just barely reaches the top of fill line on the dipstick. <img border="0" alt="[I dont know]" title="" src="/forums/graemlins/dunno.gif" />

How BIG is your stash of GC..

I picked up around 50 in the Houston area over the past weekend. Most is 04 but I have at least one case of 03.

    Which 5W-40 would you use....

I've been researching other forums for this topic and found this quote: "Engines need the flow ability of a light weight motor oil and the thermal breakdown protection of a heavier oil, thus the use of "multi-weight motor oil. Honda recommends 10w-30 for this car. I use 5w-30 in the winter and...

    Which 5W-40 would you use....

Perhaps a bit of extra info regarding my driving habits may help. This is not my daily driver. When I take this car out it is for a minimum 30 minute drive. I don't redline every gear each time I get the chance but I would say that I indeed drive aggressive only after the oil is up to spec...

    Which 5W-40 would you use....

Thank you all for the feedback so far. I'm leaning towards taking the majority advice here and possibly sticking with 10W-30 at least for one more oil change so I can run a few UOA's and see how everything is going. Out of all the spec sheets I looked at, if I were to go the route of 5W-40, I...

    Which 5W-40 would you use....

I found this chart last night looking around but you have to use babelfish to translate it from Japanese to English. <a href="http://tottan.at.infoseek.co.jp/oil.html" target="_blank">http://tottan.at.infoseek.co.jp/oil.html</a> <a href="http://world.altavista.com/babelfish/tr"...

    Which 5W-40 would you use....

for a Honda S2000 2.0L motor? I've narrowed it down to either Motul 300V Power, Redline, or Amsoil but the numbers on the spec sheet have me at a bit of a dilemma. Here are each of the three in detail: Motul(the ubb wouldn't allow a direct link because of parenthesis in the url so you'll have...

    10W30 vs. 5W40 in Honda S2000

I've pretty much decided on the Motul 300V Power 5W-40. After comparing their numbers to Redline, Amsoil, Delvac, Havoline, etc. they seem to be currently superior. I plan to get a UOA done on the Redline 10W-30 that is in there now and another in 5k miles with the Motul.

    10W30 vs. 5W40 in Honda S2000

I talked to the previous owner on the phone today and he stated that prior to selling me the car he had been using Redline's 10W-30 for the past two oil changes. Now I'm really not sure what to do. Should I stick with the 10W-30 since the engine is accustomed to it or should I go for the...
