The ESP X3 0-40 has the MB 229.52 and the Porsche C30 but NOT the VW 507 Diesel spec?? On Mobil's site it also says "no retailers found". I buy the ESP 5-30 just for the Audi 507 approval.

Just a heads up....they included the ESP at Auto Zone in their M1 sale bundle, 5qts. ESP 5-30 plus a $10. STP filter for $40. Did 4 of them....Comes out to $6. a qt. including tax. Not sure if the STP cartridge filters are top quality but still a good deal. For 2 deals: M1 $32.99...

Don't see the 5-30 ESP jugs on AAP (or anywhere else), the qts. are $9.99, it also says "Excluded from discounts except Speed Perks rewards". And "EXCLUDED ITEM FROM JAN2 PROMOTION, EXCEPT SPEED PERKS REWARDS"

Why is the M1 5W-30 ESP so expensive and hard to find? I was/is a great product, my choice for a 507 in my TDI.

My PUP came in the yellow Pennzoil jug, they were in the clearance section for the longest time with a yellow sticker price of $64.xx. I thought it was a mistake but when they did a price check it was not, so it sat there for a while. Is the Shell PUP??

This 6.0 was known for the valve train noise and CSK, never had the knock but it ALWAYS had the loud clatter/ticking at idle and when you first start off. I used thicker oils in the summer and there was a difference in the loudness with certain oils but it never went quiet. I'll have to look at...

While I was searching for info on 5W-30 PUP I came across an old post stating how quiet his engine was after using this oil. I just used some old PUP that I got in WM a few years ago and it had the same effect on m '02 GMC SD 6.0. I use ALL different top brands of oils, Mobil 1, GC, Valvoline...

Can you substitute (OEM MB) 229.52 for VW/Audi 507, out of warranty? Not counting sales, rebates and special promos, my MB Sprinter dealer sells me the 1L for $6., looks like the old Castrol Pro. LL-03 when it pours out...a beautiful thing.

Just asking if oil in the 3 different bottles is the same, isn't there a chance that there was a newer formulation or additive? In the brochure the Professional LL-03 says that it's double filtered...LOL. From the replies it seems(?) that it's the same. We here don't usually just grab a bottle...

The crack was in the side of the case, a direct hit from the rod or cap, only one head bolt was loose, I don't think tightening that had much of an effect, it was probably old, a little loose and maybe had heavy oil in it, the Rislone thinned out the oil even more. Started the disassembly...
