Scratch that No Name bottle being similar to Esso, must've been hallucinating or something. Anyhow, will try on the Mystique. Either that or the PP I picked up on sale at Wal-Mart this weekend.
Already doing that. It's the coolant heater in the radiator hose type. Guess I'll stick with that and do the longer trip thing at least once a week as well.
Ok then, following this logic, is it better for my wife to warm up the Grand Caravan for 5 minutes or so during out Canadian winters for her 2-3 km drive to and from work? My guess is yes, as the M1 will protect the engine during the longer idle and hopefully will bring up the engine to temp...
I've threads where people have picked these up on sale. Any reviews or analysis on them yet? Just wondering as I am looking to try a cheap dino in the Mystique and have shorter intervals. Going on 6 months on M1 right now.
I am thinking the Superstore No-Name brand is Esso Formula as the...
Put some M1 5w20 in my wife's 3.3L V6 Grand Caravan. Changed after about 7 months and 6000 kms. Quaker State filter though. Yeah I went to a local Lubex. Once it warms up will likely switch out the filter.
I was wondering what peoples opinions are on a recommended oil for the infamous 2.7L V6 for the 2001 Intrepid. There have been problems with the earlier model 2.7's with sludge.
I purchased my Intrepid in May with approximately 17800 Kms on it. Put in Gearhead Full (Group III) Synthethic...
I am still considering using their 10w40, but my next change isn't scheduled until October. I still have time. Here is some of the specs for the 10w40 though.
Flash point 240c/464F
Pour point -40C/- 40F
Viscosity 10-4-
Viscosity index 151
Specific gravity 0.850
Copper corrosion 1A

Is there any particular reason why an HT/HS of 3.5 is used as the threshold/benchmark of a good oil. Does it depend on the engine the oil is used in or is it an generally acceptable standard.
Any other opinions?

Anyone ever hear of Motrlube? It sells synthetic (PAO basestock) motor oil in the 10w40 weight. Made right here in my home province of Alberta! <img border="0" alt="[Canada]" title="" src="/forums/graemlins/canada.gif" />
Any experiences or opinions on their products?
I was wondering if these stats are good:
Viscosity Index: 130
Pour Point, Deg C, D-97: -35
CCS, cP, D-4684: 2500 at -25C
MRS, D-4684: 12,800 at -35C
HTHS Viscosity, D-2887: 3.3
Flash Point, Deg C: 228
Has anyone used or heard anything about Pitt Penn or Gearhead motor oils? I just used Gearhead 5W30 full synthetic last week and I wanted to get some user feedback on their products. Thanks.
