That cleaner does not remove the dirt and dust which gets caught in your sponge or whatever scrubber and scratch the paint. Great product for trailer queen. I vote for garden hose and sponge and blow off with leafblower.

using old pennzoil paraffin wax in liquid form, I would have changed the oil every 2k too. Probably used no oil becasue of the sludge left by the Pennz

I would argue that the engine is perhaps at its driest, meaning void of the most amount of oil at the time of oil change. Even if you can fill the filter with oil, it is not fully soaked and any valve holding back upstream oil would be drained and full of air. The time for the engine to begin...

Try summit racing for an aluminum pan with plug. You could always add a plug yourself, either with a kit, or a welder. I am sure most on this site will disagree.

Maxlife is great quality and price. Mobil 1 atf would be a good choice to, even if not dex6. The real difference is in the viscosity. You will see some arguements that Maxlife cannot meet the specs it states, but who cares about that. I have run maxlife in several trucks, with great results...

No not really, you are doing preventive measures to ensure the filter says unclogged and the fluid fresh. Dont think that becasue the fluid was clean looking, that it did not need to be changed. You did the right thing. I do it every 30k. 5000 lbs aint nothing btw, no offense, but 5000 lbs...
