Yeah, I could extend the interval. In fact I thought about going to 4K this time just as a change. But my riding was way down this summer and it took almost 7 months to go 3K, so I decided to just swap it out and test. Plus, there are times a man simply must change out the oil. :-)

I think Boron is becoming part of the additive pack of some oils ... Rotella CJ-4 comes to mind as having increased the Boron.

Another in the series of UOAs for Rotella 15W-40 CJ-4 in my 2007 GL1800 Honda Goldwing. The objective is to hold the oil brand / weight / type a constant variable. Three UOAs here, totaling 9K miles. Earlier UOAs were not necessarily with Rotella CJ-4. Some oil changes had no UOA performed...
