    2003 Honda power steering problem

My granddaughter is in her first car that I helped her buy. She can't keep the power steering fluid in it. I did a search on youtube and found there is a defective o-ring in the return line and it lets the pump suck air, making the fluid foam up and overflow the reservoir. That was a simple fix...

    Ram 3500 6.4 hemi

I opted for the dealer service here locally. Quite the ordeal. It was the first time I have taken a vehicle in for service, although I have owned Mopar since 2003. I did get two reflashes on the computer and a pretty good price on the service, $76.95, or there about.

    Ram 3500 6.4 hemi

I am looking for any info on oil and filter change for my 6.4 hemi. I was going to use Mobil 1 European 0W-40, but have discovered that it does not meet the spec that Chrysler requires. Thanks!

    Ram 3500 6.4 Hemi

I'll get my share of it tomorrow for 10 hours, but it's supposed to get up to 40. If the wind doesn't blow, it'll be ok.

I'll get back to you tomorrow. It's cold, windy, and snowing outside!

    Ram 3500 6.4 Hemi

Earlier this year I bought a Ram 3500 with the 6.4 Hemi engine. I bought it over the phone and really didn't do much research on that particular model because I thought my '07 Ram 3500 was going to be in the shop for an extended period. One of the things I learned about my new truck is that it...

    Funny Dealer Intercom Message

That might have happened at the local dealer here. The last time I took my 5.7 sequoia there for an oil change, they had to change it 3 times before they got it right! I requested 5w/20 and they put bulk oil in. I just happened to be watching when it happened. So, they changed it again and I...

    Post your latest oil change

On 7/11/09, changed the oil in my Toyota Sequoia, 08, 5.7L, at 15,000 miles. Dealer had done it twice before, so I thought I'd give it a try. I used Valvoline conventional 5w20, bought in gallon jugs. I ran the car up on some 2X12's to get it up a little to help in removing the skid plate. I...

    Soot level?

The fleet/big rig oil change place here local has a machine to analyze your oil while you wait.

    Soot level?

Thanks for the input. I will UOA next change and see if the Stratapore filter helps.

    Soot level?

I think it was a Baldwin, whatever they use at the fleet oil change place. I have been running Smarty Jr. on #1 for the last oil change. Been thinking of bumping it up to the #2 setting. The air filter is an AFE drop in, with no air box mods. I have Fleetguard Stratapore oil filter in this...

    New high performance 5.9 cummins.

I just read a post on TDR about Shaeffers oil and turbo surging on a 5.9 Cummins Dodge and turbo failure on some Cat generator industrial engines. You might check it out.

    Soot level?

I had a UOA done at the last oil change and the soot level was at 1.9%. Is that good, bad, middle of the road? 6800 miles on the Chevron Delo 15w40 oil in my '07 Dodge 5.9 dually with just about 60,000 miles on it. Anybody?

Driving on tires with virtually no tread left.....

I had a set of 6 new tires on order for my duallie Dodge, when the left front blew out and damaged the lower wheel well where the tread hit it multiple times before it let go of the carcass. So, that is something to think about. My tires where not down to the wear bars, yet, but on their way...

    Flathead oils

I usually run Delo 400 15w40 in my '62 Lincoln SA200 with a continental flathead 4, just because that's what I run in my Dodge diesel.

    Delo 400 CI4+

I switched over to Rotella 5w40 synthetic in my ZG1400 on the second oil change. I had bought the gallon jug at W-Mart. Time for another oil change and I went back to Wally W. and they didn't carry that in the gallon. I had a quart left over from the previous change, so bought 3 more quarts...

    CNG/LNG oil question

Growing up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle, we had natural gas fueled 292 Chevy inline 6 engines pumping irrigation water. They would be fired up for the growing season and would run 6-8 weeks at around 2500 rpms, around the clock, with no services. Some of the engines had glass sight tubes...
