How many speakers do YOU have?

The new BMW i7 (Full EV version of new 7 Series) can be specced with 39 speakers apparently. I assume it’s a fairly expensive option as I believe my G12 745Le has 16 speakers with the standard Harmon Kardon system. I have driven the new i7 but it was a short test drive and I never got to try...

ACEA A3/B4, ACEA C3, MB 229.50, 229.52 - Do any of these specs have a seal treatment requirement for the oild to prevent oil leaks in older cars?

I have bought Valvoline Maxlife High Mileage oils from OpieOils and from EuroCarParts. They are not something you will find for sale in Costco but you can find them if you are prepared to shop around.

Running 0w-20 STP SYN in bmw 340i (B58) do I need to change immediately?

The UK handbook for my car (has the B58) lists 0w40 and 5w40 as suitable viscosities. As long as it meets LL04. I don’t think there is any oil in 0w40 or 5w40 that meets the other two specs.

    BMW B58 0W-12?

Not sure what engine is in my car. When I did the Vin decoder it said it had a B58X There are no later engines in the 745Le that I am aware. Mine is a 21 model year and they never made any 7 Series during Covid. Even the 72 plates that have just been registered as new are 21 model year as...

    BMW B58 0W-12?

Not a fan of an oil as thin as 0w12, I am sure it will be a great oil. But the B58 is also specced for LL04 and 5w40. Which I shall be putting in when I do an oil change. I suspect BMW use 0w30 or 5w30 of some kind Will find out when my 745Le goes in for a service later this month

    BMW B58 0W-12?

The 21 model year 745 Hybrid takes 0w20, 5w20 in the newest spec. But can also run LL04 I think dealers in the UK use 0w20 Never seen a 0w12 oil yet in the UK. I wonder what differences there are between the 21 model year and 23 model year B58 engines? Will find out when my car gets its...

    Recommendations for a 2017 BMW 330?

You don’t need to stray from BMW specs. An LL04 5w30 will do the job and they are cheap and plentiful in the UK, so likely even more common and cheaper in the USA. Also the option to run a 5w40. After it being pointed that I would struggle to find a 0w40 (I had wrongly assumed there would be...

Finding new tires that are not out of round - mission impossible?

No wheel or tyre is perfectly round. None Would I do RFB on a run of the mill hatchback with 16” wheels? No. But just because you don’t have a car with 19”/20”/21” wheels and 30/35 section tyres doesn’t mean RFB doesn’t do anything or doesn’t work. And not sure why you think Road Force...

Finding new tires that are not out of round - mission impossible?

All Jaguar dealers in the UK have Hunter RoadForce balancers. Because cars like the X351 have lots of issues with front end vibration. Tyres are never perfectly round, neither are wheels. Road Force Balancing simply allows the garage to match the tyre to the wheel better. Never had any issue...

So I've want to buy a $60K electric Kia...

I don’t know what Kia EV that was but in London huge number of Ubers/Bolt/FreeNow drivers use Kia EVs. Mostly the eNiro, though there are others EVs being used, MG ZS EV, MG5 EV, Kia EV6,, various Hyundais and Teslas. There are eNiros with 200k miles on them. And usual range is 250 miles with...

LM Engine Flush + Ceratec. My review.

Do you know the best way to out a troll? Pull them up on being a troll and leave a little hand grenade in the form of a spelling or grammar mistake for them to jump on. When they do and don’t actually explain why they troll every thread about Ceratec you know you have indeed found a troll...

BMW factory oil recomendations, is this document still current?

Haven’t done the research yet but if that’s the case then 5w40 Motul LL04 Specific will likely be the choice. Plenty of suitable 5w30 but not sure I want to put 0w20 or 5w20 in it.

Interesting. I would have thought I would have seen something on the Smart as it’s a small sump. Not unexpected in the S Class as it was a diesel.

BMW factory oil recomendations, is this document still current?

The handbook for my 2020 745Le (2021 model year) is very vague on oil specs, when compared to my previous XJL and S Class. It lists BMW LL04, LL12FE and LL17FE. Or alternatives C2 or C3 (up to 2 pints for top up only) With Viscosities listed as 0w20, 5w20, 0w30, 5w30, 0w40 or 5w40 Which...

Interesting thread, especially the first picture from The Critic I have added Ceretec to a Smart For Four eith the 0.9 litre petrol turbo Renault engine and my Merc S350d with the 3.0 v6 diesel engine. It didn't change the appearance of the oil in any way. Already go a bottle to go into the...
