mazda (ford cd4e) fluid recomendation

2005 CD4E are not in 2005 Mazda 6i (4-cyl), right? Many people have told me that Mazda do not use the CD4E anymore. Please don't scare me...

    Subaru's lightweight 75W80 gear oil

Jon, please post back if you try the MTL-P. I thought about it before using the MTL-R. And am very interested in how the 85w will perform. Thanks!

    Integra Oil Suggestions

I wouldn't even bother with FP and LC in this car. It is bascially indestructable. Just go ahead and use Mobil 1 5w-30 (EP better) and change it every 7500 miles if you drive a lot, or 5000 miles if you drive in severe conditions. My only suggestion is do 3 ATF drain/fill in a row with Honda...

    V-Power

I hate ethanol. It's in our gas because of the lobby groups. All the major producers claim that they can formulate gas that burns as clean without the required ethanol. But the politicians need to get their votes... oh well X_X

    Integra Oil Suggestions

I have a 97 Integra LS which I bought used from a friend at 60k miles. I used Mobil 1 5w-30 and 10w-30 at 7500 mile intervals and it never burn a drop in 7500 miles. It is my GF's commute car which she drives 100 miles a day. It now has 120k miles.

    Subaru's lightweight 75W80 gear oil

You are correct. I mixed up the Syntrans with their Syntrax/Multitrax line. Especially after seeing that your location is in OZ. I was trying to get my friend to ship me some Multitrax before using SF MTL-R ...

    Subaru's lightweight 75W80 gear oil

Jon, I replied to your post on NASIOC. I don't think the 75w-80 is the right oil. There is another "Gear Oil Extra 75w-90 GL-5" which is the correct one. I wouldn't deviate from the manual's recommendation of a 90w. I would recommend Mola's SF MTL-R. It has been great to me so far, great to...

    M1 5w30, 7534mi, 2003 Subaru WRX wagon 2.0 turbo

I've been told by an online Subaru parts dealer that the 080 and 100 are the same filter, and the only difference is the part number change. I ran the 080 along with Mobil T&SUV 5w-40 and had a fine UOA. It is somewhere in this forum. However, I have been using 0w-40 lately and will switch to...

Who Makes What Filter? - One more time.

Fram (Honeywell) makes some Honda OE filters. So does Filtech. Filtech is a US division of Toyo Roki in Japan. Toyo Roki also makes the Subaru WRX and STi (turbos) filters.

new car purchase, 05 honds s2k

Honda Japan I would use a 40 wt if it were my car.

    Subaru 2.5 STi/Forester - GC or XD-3 good?

Don't be afraid of 40 weight oils if your car does not see freezing temperature. The manual actaully lists 10w-30 and 10w-40 in the oil chart if your car sees 100F, and even thicker if you have it under severe low and temperature (towing). You need to pick your oil viscosity based on ambient...

Mobil 1 0W-40 (new API SM version) VOA (Blackstone Labs)

So if you have to choose between this SM M1 0w-40 or their 5w-30/10w-30 EP, which one would you choose? I would have picked the 10w-40 EP but it seems like it is no sold on Earth. 15w-50 EP is just too thick for my daily commuter WRX.

Will a oW-XX hurt my engine?

    M1 EP 10w40, Euro 0w40, T&S 5w40...which?

So it has been a month and I still haven't seen the 10w-40 at either Autozone/Kragen/Walmart yet. Has any human being seen it yet? I am getting close to my next oil change and I really would like to use the 10w-40. I had 4 bottles of SL 0w-40 left but the car takes 5, and I do not want to mix...

Mineral vs Synthetic for synchro performance

I've read enough experiences regarding this subject on Subaru forums that I feel that the inherent low friction of synthetic fluids (compared to dino) do make a difference in synchro performance. The WRX transaxle requies 75w-90 GL-5. Many people have used Redline 75w-90NS and experienced...

Castrol GTX 10w-40, 4339 miles, MY05 Subaru Forester XT

I also used dino oil until 10k miles in my 2004 WRX. Changed out the factory fill to Mobil 10w-30 @ 2600 miles, then to Chevron 10w-40 @ ~5600 then again @ 7500. Switched to M1 T&SUV @ 10k. And it is perfectly fine to use 10w-40 in Texas heat. In fact, 40w is what every one else use in the...
