    2014 Ford Flex EcoBoost 5900mi 5w-30 M1&M1 filter

Thanks for switching to the Ford Flex in the subject. I mistakenly used the Ford Edge on this report and post. It is in fact a FLEX! Sorry bout that!

10-15k OCI's here are a slam dunk. But I would agree, 1 year-ish and I would change the oil regardless.

    Don't neglect PS fluid!

I use a Mitivac to suck out the P/S reservoir and replace with new, once a year. Quick, easy, and cheap. Brake fluid I also use the mitivac, but every 3-4 years when I do a complete brake job.

2007 Honda Accord Transmission fluid changes

My 2004 came with Z1 obviously, and I switched to DW1 as soon as it was available. I have a UOA of each ATF and you cannot tell the difference. At 170k, mine still shifts like new. But I drop/refill 3qts every year no matter what. I got in this habit after seeing all my Honda's mated with V6's...

Once a year OCI's since the last UOA in 2011. Typically running 12k, this year a hair past 14k, with a real hard winter. And I seem to be on a 4 year UOA cycle, so the timing was right to do another. Oil filter was M1. Oil was Quaker State 0w-20 Synthetic. <img...

2006 Honda Accord UOA HGSB 0w20

Wow is this thread splitting hairs on a UOA that looks like virgin oil. These Honda 2.4's can run ANY oil for well over 7k miles. To pay for a UOA at 3k is a complete waste. You will not find any decent wear metal numbers at that mileage to track.

2010 Toyota Sequoia 5900mi with towing

Of the total 5900 miles on this UOA, we towed our 25' travel trailer (4300lbs loaded) over 4,000miles over the summer. 2,500+ of which were in and all around the Smokey mountains and vicinity for 2 weeks, plus another easy 1k+ of in State towing. (That's actual loaded, towing mileage.) Remaining...

I see where the disconnect is, and I don't think its me, so yes I have been on the short side. You should have just stopped at the confirmation of my first statement (with temp correction) that 0w-40 is thicker at very cold temps than 0w-20. I never took this any further. Instead, you're...
