I am always interested in what others have to say.
My 1996 Avalon has a Toyota oil filter, size 90915-YZZD1 on it. It has gone about 5000 miles.
I had my local mechanic order a new tail light switch and do some minor maintenance. I had him change the oil and leave the 90915-YZZD1 on it. The new oil is clean as a whistle.
I want to run the...
What range of temperature are we talking about? "very hot" is relative.
Is it 120F and up? How long does it stay above 120F?
What is temperature range? between hot and very hot and cool?
Over 100 degrees F. every day.
My Avalon has gone about 250,000 miles on a 1MZ-FE engine, and I live in a very hot climate during the summer. My mechanic says that in hot weather with a motor this old that 5W-30 is best not used, and a 20W-50 oil is better. What are your thoughts?
In short, how good are Motul racing oils in ordinary, passenger car applications? A buddy of mine might be interested in some. Are they robust enough for an oil change of 5000 to 7000 miles? I know they were intended for the shorter intervals of race cars.

In: Semi-Synthetic witch's brew; with Toyota 90915-YZZD1 filter. I will run this one about 10,000 miles.
Mileage: 244,720 miles.

What is your opinion about Kendall GT-1 Max,full synthetic, Liquid Titanium? I just saw it selling at $2.99 A quart. But I am more interested in what you have to say about the oil rather than the price. The other oil with it was Shield Choice by Phillip 66.
The first was a 5W-30. The second...

It will work fine in a 1952 MG TD though.
I have an old Winchester 9422 in .22 WMR. It has a receiver sight and is a sweet shooter. In a handgun, a .22WMR has a lot of stopping power for its size and will serve a lot better than nothing for self defense.
