Backdoor kill-switches in every car by 2026

This device won't prevent drivers on narcotics or marijuana though. Illinois is starting to see a sharp increase in driving while impaired ever since it legalized marijuana. I had a Intoxilot on my car due to my last DUI and it was a real pain to use. Plus, it wasn't always accurate and took...

The Cabal Guy. It was a dark but pretty funny movie that got terrible ratings.

Purolator One Air Filter And OId Stock?

Perhaps a silly question but I just bought air filter for my 2005 Corolla. I bought a Purolater One air filter off of Amazon and just noticed that it was produced in 2017? Is it safe to use? It seems the build quality is a little better than the cheap Fram one I will replace. Thanks

    Westlake Tires?

Thanks everyone for the responses. I suspect this car will rust out before any major component goes bad on it.

    Westlake Tires?

I only drive about 6,000 miles per year. My tires were approaching the 9 year mark on my 80,000 mile, 2004 Corolla. They seemed to have some major cracks from the harsh Winter and Summers of Chicago. I've been a little strapped for cash so I bought new Westlake tires f rom Discount Tires. It...

    They Got Me....Police Stop

I'm from Chicago and I don't even think the police do traffic stops anymore. You have to be driving on the sidewalk on into oncoming traffic to get pulled over.

Son just got license, Wow! $1300 a year insurance increase, liability only...

Doesn't Los Angeles have decent public transportation? I'm from Chicago and high school teens don't care about driving that much. They don't even offer it in high schools and you have to go out to a private driving place. I guess, we have a lot of buses and subways though.

    Paste VS Liquid

I only wax by hand and find liquid much easier to use than paste. I've read that paste wax may last a little longer but I don't care.

Bought the new 20,000 mile Supertech 0w20

IMO, the only thing Supertech has going for it is the price point. They probably will see a huge decrease in sales soon.

Driving With The The Low Fuel Light On......

I figure with the record gas prices some folks may be struggling to fill their tanks. I have a 2005 Corolla with 90,000 miles. Chicago gas prices have hit over $5 a gallon. I'm curious just how damaging this is to the fuel pump? I imagine running out of gas repeatedly could be damaging? Thanks

    Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax

That is a great deal. I was under the impression though that the Ultimate line of products with the yellow back round is the new formula.

    Turtle wax Ceramic vs NuFinish

My experience is the Ultimate Wax lasts the longest. I use the Meguires Cleaner Wax first then apply the Ultimate Wax. Prepping the paint before the wax is key. Using a clay bar before applying any wax will improve the performance of any wax.

    Turtle wax Ceramic vs NuFinish

Meguires Ultimate wax and Gold Glass are better than both of those. I prefer the liquid versions over the paste.

Viral TikTok shows steak locked up to prevent theft at Walmart

It doesn't make any sense at all to lock up low cost items. Amazon prices continue to increase and I find more people going back to brick and mortar stores. Of course, most of these "lock down" CVS and Walgreens are in the West and South sides of Chicago. This is nothing but "shoplifting...

Viral TikTok shows steak locked up to prevent theft at Walmart

The problem with locking up items is that it becomes a hassle for paying customers. The Walgreens in Chicago lock up their toothpaste, Tide detergent, air fresheners, ect.....It took 10 minutes for a Walgreen employee to open the "cage" and then walk with me up to the register. Paying customers...

What "issues" do you just "live with" on your older vehicle?

I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla with 85,000 miles that runs great. I live with the creeping rust from Chicago winters. I spray Fluid Film here and there but it's a hopeless situation. lol
