AU 17' Accord V6 - What oil viscosity?

Is the Shell ECT C3 a good fit i thought that was mainly a diesel focused oil? Used the Penrite last change but Shell is on sale now. Otherwise i can just grab the helix 5w-30 was a little concerned with the cylinder shutoff though.

It’s very uncommon for the viscosity to be on the oil cap down here.

AU 17' Accord V6 - What oil viscosity?

I feel really stupid asking this but what 'specification' would i want to look for i.e. BMWLL01, GF-5, MS-6395, etc I do drive quite enthusiastically and its not uncommon to go for a weekend mountain drive.

AU 17' Accord V6 - What oil viscosity?

I had an 07 v6 also and was using 5w-40 in that and got some good mileage out of the vehicle... However with this VCM system and modern tolerances i didn't want to push my luck. Our accords are the same as the USA spec vehicles size and all its the Accord euro that was different.

AU 17' Accord V6 - What oil viscosity?

Hi All, Recently picked up a 17' Accord V6 in Australia that is in dire need of a service. From this forum i can see the US and CA spec cars use 0w-20 oil however down here each dealer has told me something different depending what they have on tap. I'd refer to the manual however the dealer...

I have moved onto a newer 5 series still with an N52 however the indy mechanic i used put LM Toptec 4200 in it 6500km ago (No...

Thanks for the reply mate. I was also looking at Mobil 1 0w40 and Catrol Edge 5w40, is the Penrite a 'better' oil for my conditions? I'm about to do a 4000km return trip so i really want the car to be happy with what is in it <img src="/forums/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile"...

    E60 525i N52 AUS OIL

I was thinking about Mobil, worst case is it ends up burning to fast for my taste like allot of these engines seem to do and i try something else? Is it bad to keep trying different oils? My driving is usually 35% stop start, 55% highway and 10% spirited country roads, i really use the rev...

    E60 525i N52 AUS OIL

TLDR what oil in AUS for an E60 with the N52 Hi Guys, I'm currently driving a 2008 BMW 525i with the N52 engine down in Australia. I have been hearing and reading very conflicting stories on oil (What else is new xD) due to my hotter climate(-5.c - 50.c) and my harder driving conditions. When...
