BMW M3 F80 S55 engine under valve cover pictures 111k miles on dealer intervals PICTURES

I agree with OP, looks like it was serviced exclusively with Castrol (grp 3) oil. Moving forward, I'd step it up to a PAO oil and moniter the varnish. Who knows, it might prevent/slow future leaks from occuring?

Any logic to changing the oil before storage?

I'd also change it. Seems almost foolish to leave it stored with acidic fluid in the engine.

Rock Auto Wagner ThermoQuiet Bait and Switch???

This. I ordered a higer-quality tensioner from RA. They sent me the box for the one i ordered, with a cheaper-priced part inside the box. I promptly returned it.

Any downsides to the Lexus GS series?

After owning an IS350 and being familiar with the LS, I'd probably choose a GS.

People who trade in vehicles after 0-2 years for silly reasons. Are people really this bad with finances?

Another factor not mentioned, is the inflationary cost of vehicles. Comparatively speaking, when you look at housing, food etc. those rates of inflation are far higher than that of autos. From 1947 to 2026, the inflation rate was only 2.09%, meaning a vehicle costing 15K in 1947, would cost...

💯 Not everyone is struggling as social media will have you believe.

It's funny how they put the portly fellows on the cycles, while the skinny dude does the steering. 😅

New car sales dwindling due to high cost

You sure about that? As the lending spree is unlikely to end anytime soon, nothing stopping "buyers" from getting everything their imagination can dream of.

TOYOTA possibly bringing small truck ( Corolla ) to compete with FORD Maverick in U.S..

My guess is they won't pass N. American crash tests.

    Rental Car Review: 2026 Camry

Yes, generally all cars sit lower than SUVs and trucks. Just part of their design.

    Does anyone remember these lights?

I recall seeing those mounted under the hood. Very handy, especially for the time in auto history.

The Current New Truck Market Is In Trouble

My fave commercial is the Chevy one where folks were able to play "paddy cake" while driving their truck. That's one of the main features I look for in a work truck.

Boroscoped the cylinders on my 2014 Acura RLX today

What fuel grade and octane are you running? Also, are you doing extended OCI's? And yes, since it's DI, that's the injector.

Why Honda is no longer Toyota's equal in the used car market.

Wow, impressive! Sorry to hear this. My experience with Toyota and Honda echos the majority of owners' experience.

Why Honda is no longer Toyota's equal in the used car market.

Just because it's made of "alum foil", doesn't mean it isn't reliable.

Why Honda is no longer Toyota's equal in the used car market.

Lol, go figure! I see the 80s Hondas in my area regularly. No Volvos to speak of. We had 4 240s in my family, all scrapped due to rust.

Why Honda is no longer Toyota's equal in the used car market.

That's what makes them superior to the Volvo. Biodegradeable wiring harnesses and plastics that would break if you looked at them the wrong way. Not to mention the fuel economy of a carbureted american V8 makes them grossly overrated. The only good thing on them was the powertrain...very stout...
