    Pennzoil Platinum LV quality?

Good point. Home Depot carries it here. If Walmart carried it, there would be a great deal more discussion. Mercon LV suitable replacement for Matic S? I try to make my life simpler by not having a dozen different fluids laying around. So I’m looking for a fluid that works in both vehicles.

    Pennzoil Platinum LV quality?

It will be higher priced here plus I’m looking at doing a Nissan NV at the same time and for simplicity, I want the same fluid.

    Pennzoil Platinum LV quality?

Yes, it should be fine. It just doesn’t get much attention around here and it gives me pause about how long it will last and whether it will eventually cause problems. Guess the old adage, “you get what you pay for” does not always apply to vehicle fluids but it does worry me a little. Going to...

    Pennzoil Platinum LV quality?

Looked around and I didn’t find anything that delved into the quality of Pennzoil Platinum LV atf. It’s usually referenced as a cheaper, licensed, alternative to other brands such as OEM, Valvoline, Castrol, etc. Curious if anyone here has any knowledge about the quality of this product...

    Castrol 0w40 price corrected…you are welcome 👍

Earlier in this topic I found out that the $67 price for castrol 0w40 jugs were probably a price error in this thread I started: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/whats-up-with-castrol-edge-0w-40.357572/page-2#post-6193695 I contacted Castrol and apparently they have gotten Walmart to...

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

I contacted Castrol about this and received an email back from customer service. Thank you for contacting Castrol North America. The price in question for Castrol EDGE Euro Car 0W-40 A3/B4 on Walmart.com is not correct so we will reach out to Wal-Mart about the observation to have it...

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

To answer several questions at once. Castrol 0w40 has been fantastic for both my vehicles. 0w is a must since both vehicles are outside and ofter get down to -30f. Castrol 0w40 starts immediately at that temp. My van has yet to eat any oil after nearly a year and over 10,000 miles and the oil...

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

To answer several questions at once. It gets to -30 many night where i live and the Cadtrol 0w40 Just wondering. I don’t believe they would gouge either. It is possible that Walmart has a pricing error which happens often. Amazon sales will adjust their prices to match Walmart. Auto stores are...

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

Not on the shelves here anymore. But can ship to store in Wasilla. A pricing error would be a good explanation. Amazon just follows whatever Walmart sells it for. Napa has it on hand for $55 with 20% off if you buy three jugs but still pricey.

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

The May 2022 thread has been closed and should not have been. There was some issues last year in getting Castrol 0w40 but I was able to pick up three jugs at about $25 then. Jumping to a price of $67 is different. Walmart doesn’t do a price gouging. That is Castrol jumping up it’s price. I can...

What’s up with Castrol Edge 0w-40?

Castrol 0w-40 used to be reasonable and available. Now even Walmart is charging $67 for a 5 qt jug? I don’t believe it’s because oil prices are high and it’s from Germany since other Castrol Edge oils are still reasonable. So I am curious anyone knows what is going on with this? Was going to...

OEM transmission filter or aftermarket filter on f150

Curious if there are any issues with aftermarket filters for the 6r80 transmission? Or should I just get one out of the Ford dealership? I have not even checked their prices yet and may just be a mute point. I will replace the transmission pan with one that has a drain bolt too…because Ford...

    Castrol a3/b4 in tractor diesel???

Little colder this year. We’ve had consistent -20f at night since beginning of November. Hate to see what January will bring. I live in a microclimate that is about 10 to 15 degrees less than the town of Talkeetna is. At least we are not interior Alaska. They get even colder.

    Castrol a3/b4 in tractor diesel???

Was trying to decide if I should have posted this in tractor sub forum but decided I might get more attention here😁 I have a newer Branson 4520r tractor which has the Cummins engine. No turbo. I am about to put in John Deere plus 50 II 0w40 in but at $45 per gallon, that’s expensive. No cheaper...
