HAPPY ENDING! Finally had a chance to put the new rotors (Bosch QuiteCast) and pads (Akebono ACT) on the Camry. The entire job went smoothly and without a hitch. Thanks again to everyone on here for their tips and advice! Now I have silent, smooth brakes that feel right.

I was at Skynyrd's last concert (original lineup) the night before the plane crash. I was a huge fan before, but that night they were one of the absolute tightest bands I ever saw.

Just now realized I have Carlos Santana on there twice. Since he should only be on there once, I could easily add Tony Iommi, Bill Nelson, Ritchie Blackmore, of Frank Marino.

2003 Toyota Camry 2.4L, 150k miles. 24 mpg on last tank, calculated after fill up at Costco Saturday. All while delivering Door Dash around town last week.

Also, I could easily add Tony Iommi to my top 10. He had a totally unique sound, and almost single handedly created heavy metal guitar.

At this point, I'm confident that I could run Super Tech or Kirkland xW-30, change it every 4-5k, and I'd be just fine for another 50k with no oil related problems. However, I'm that guy who is eager to spend an extra 50 bucks a year on oil if there is a possibility it will give me some...

So, there is no other impactful trade-off? I know it's an old car, but it's in great shape @150K miles and is still my daily driver. My goal is for it to remain so for at least another 3-4 years.

UPDATE: Replaced front rotors and pads on the 2016 Outback today. Bosch QuietCast rotors and Akebono ACT pads. Since I decided to do as much of my own car maintenance as I could less than a year ago, this was probably the smoothest, most successful job I've done yet. No big surprises, no major...

A while back, when I was flush with money, I stocked up on oil. So, I already had the Amsoil sitting on the shelf, ready to go. I see your point though, and your perspective is appreciated! I may consider Mobil or some other oil going forward.

I am using the CarQuest (Premium Guard) Extended Performance filter.
