Drain Filter If I Reuse It?

If it is easy to get to, I choose to drain the oil out of the filter mount. I have never had an issue getting the filter sealed back on properly. That is just the way I do it.

O'reilly's house brands now both made by WIX- pics

Cut open a MicroGard the other day and construction was not like a WIX but it was sturdy and I was pretty impressed at the way it held up to a pretty tough OCI. (10-11k 1 year). Great deal.

DIY oil change for Maserati 2002 Coupe.

I think he meant a picture of your car, not the oil. I want to see the car too!! Pennzoil Ultra 5w40 is a great oil and may I suggest Mobil 1 0w40 or Castrol 5w40/0w40 which are all oils that can be had for a much better price when on sale. Obviously your car does not ask you to meet very...

Noisy Valvetrain with Castrol Edge 0W-40 API SM

Olas, don't take anything personal. We all get blasted every once and a while:) OP: Acoustics are very interesting. I seriously doubt you have a problem and I would just finish this run and go back to what you used with no issues (Helix 5w40).

So I got a new Car..Which Oil? Dart 1.4L Turbo.

Really read that owners manual. earlyre has some good info as well and it appears that you can use most API SM/SN 5w40's. You have Syntec as an option, M1 0w40 and even Rotella. Just pick what is reasonable. I seriously doubt you will have any problems using any of those oils. M1 0w40 is a good...

    Pennzoil 0w/40 vs 5w/40

Very good question and I think it is another Pennzoil marketing goof-up. I do not know why they just did not combine all specs into one oil. Mobil has been able to combine the specs they need into M1 0w40. There is no advantage to using the 5w40 unless it carries a spec that you need for...

Any value in getting TBN + TAN of trans oil?

It would be nice to see how this "lifetime" fluid is holding up and TBN/TAN would be one of the only reasonable ways to check that. It is your money so it is easy for me to say. You are changing it anyway so it doesnt really benefit you to fork out the extra money.

I have rocked a go-tee for 5 years. I can't shave it off, no one has ever said anything negative to me (about the beard anyway lol) and I am in the medical field with constant contact with the public. BTW.... I hear Chuck Norris' beard trims itself. <img src="/forums/graemlins/grin.gif"...

No apparent fuel dilution. Did this oil smell of gasoline? I think you have a winner here so nothing to worry about. Thanks so much for the post!
