Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

Highway miles with long drives are actually easier on the oil then short city drives.

What’s the current consensus on Mobil 1 filters?

I see a lot of people are saying these are made by premium guard. The last 2 I got were made in South Korea. Could Pentius be making some of these?

Gas has gone up 30+%, why hasn’t automotive Oil?

Simple economics. The base oil for motor oil is a fairly small part of the expense for making a jug of oil. Additives, marketing, licensing and distribution make up a much larger percentage.

Very very similar without the guarantee of GTL base oil

Valvoline Restore and Protect vs Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

The quaker state will use whichever blend of group 3 is available for the best price while.the Pennzoil platinum and ultra platinum.exclusively use GTL base oil. The add pack for Quaker State Ultimate Protection is very similar to Pennzoil Platinum but does not.have the borate esters of the...

Pennzoil Platinum - Made from or with NG?

I mean, I don’t usually borescope my engines. But no visible varnish or buildup. And the oil comes out after 5k miles a nice medium brown.

Pennzoil Platinum - Made from or with NG?

I find the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum keeps my engines fairly clean. I got a ford fusion hybrid last year and cleaned it up with Valvoline Restore and Protect but have been running PUP since then.

198,500 miles. I change oil ideally every 5k miles. This one was a bit closer to 6k. I think 5800 miles because of the work travel. Runs smooth and doesn’t burn a drop of oil. Does need motor mounts though

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

I would go for 3k miles given the lack of oil change history for parts of the cars history. After the first change I would say you can safely run 5k or annual intervals.

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

30-60 percent. Same as regular group 3. The combination makes up 90-95% of the oil. Can change from batch to batch due to supply changes as well.

    Eneos 0w-20

I would agree with this statement for the most part. My car loves it. Pennzoil ultra platinum would also be a great choice

    Eneos 0w-20

Nothing truly sticks out. Good pour point but overalls just a good Dexos rated oil

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

After having much success on my 2013 Honda Civic with 285k miles running Valvoline Restore and Protect before it was totaled I’m now running it in the car I bought to replace it, a 2017 Ford fusion hybrid with 180k miles. Oil was black coming out when I bought it from used car dealer but it...

Toyota and Lexus hybrid eCVT ATF fluids?

I service my moms 2016 rav4 hybrid with the idemitau equivalent of Toyota WS. It’s been performing admirably the past 20k miles in her car and will be getting changed in the next 5k miles just to test. Will say the electric rear differential on these tends to have more wear and darker fluid...

Mobil EP Vs Valvoline Extended Protection

It’s not a direct correlation but usually quiet oils tend to have good wear results.
