Mine is actually 10W-30 after 2002 they switched to 5w-30 I believe, these engines run very hot so a thicker oil will be better for these is what I have heard.

I am aware of this but I usually do 3-4k mile OCI’s regardless so I don’t think spending 10 extra dollars would be worth it in my case.

Definitely because of you guys' severe conditions, where I live is pretty sparse and you rarely even get stopped by lights if you take the right routes which we try to do as much as possible. Back roads around the city for the win.
