So are Purolator oil filters the replacement for Fram going forward? This was the Walmart isle at my nearest store.

I won't either, but that's because my WalMart has nothing I need in stock and wont, ever. My WalMart is run by non thinking individuals with room temperature IQ's. Automotive stuff is mixed in with home goods and nothing is in stock.

My new travel trailer - 1999 Sportsman

Wow, 1/10th (or less) the cost of new and in great shape. Perfect.

Absolute perfection. Like new. No joke, those microfiber rollers are magic. They hold a lot of paint, make a perfect surface finish and get into all the stucco nooks and crannies. Way better looking up close than spraying. And a whole bunch easier than the large rollers. Did I mention it's fast???

Mercruiser I/O 4.3 V6 - Spark Plug contact with pistons

That's not too much of a worry. Pistons get machined for valve clearance and all sorts of things. Never an issue. They are plenty strong. I am guessing the parts went out the exhaust, there is little to no damage and it's good.

Oil for a 90s JDM Turbo engine

Diesel additives by Lake Speed Jr.

2-EHN, also called EHN often called alkyl nitrates on the MSDS is the primary active cetane improver in diesel additives that claim to improve cetane (the ability to light off fast, for lack of a better description) This reduces the loud knock and does often improve efficiency. As much as I...

Mercruiser I/O 4.3 V6 - Spark Plug contact with pistons

Suggestions above are good ones. The clearance between piston and head is often very small. So a metal part can bang all around really messing up the piston and head. Or it can embed itself in the piston or head and remain there for a while, and all will seem well, until.... Or if lucky, it can...

    Exterior House Painting Ongoing

For my concrete/stucco FL house, I discovered my favorite way to paint it via experimentation. A 6 inch wide, 3/4 inch thick microfiber roller. Now before you say that's absurd, there is no way something so small like that saves time or does a better job, think about the rough stucco surface...

Need HD mower or tractor recommendation for 20ac

Yes he did! Very practical information. Lots to chew on. I don't seem to have any allergies at my Florida house in Jupiter Farms about 11 miles West of the shoreline (clean air). I've not had any issues with TN in the past, but have not lived there.

I really appreciate your point about comfort. I've long believed in equipment that is pleasant to use and effective. Today I'm working the issues on my JD GT235 garden tractor. That is an epic good little machine. Even has ball bearings on the hydrostatic fwd/back pedals. Just rebuilt them. I am...

Why do hotels put comforters/duvets on beds... year around?

I can't stay warm at times, especially at night. This is due to autoimmune issues. I even get cold in a FL summer!! The blankets are 100% necessary for me.

Ceramic coatings offer almost no UV protection.

None do. It's simply not possible. The 'coating' what ever it may be is sub micron and really just fills tiny imperfections. Objective testing show UV protection to be utterly meaningless. With very few exceptions. One possible exception is 303 slathered on to black plastic.

Ceramic coatings offer almost no UV protection.

The idea that any wax type product protects against UV for any length of time is utter nonsense.

Need HD mower or tractor recommendation for 20ac

That's a huge factor for me. I'm 62, in good physical shape and reasonably strong about 190 pounds, but have horrible multiple autoimmune health issues that often leave me with no energy. The good news is that nothing hurts. I'm an ex athlete/bicycle racer and dirt bike guy. So getting beat up...

Need HD mower or tractor recommendation for 20ac

The mowing calculator is awesome, thanks. I measured the size and it is 3.4 acres of lawn not including roads/paths or driveway sides. Some of it is flat wooded grass where I have to mow around trees. I did not include the roads down to the pond and 1000 foot driveway. But did include the road...

    Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 Extended Performance - 2025 Explorer 2.3 ecoboost

The Mobil 1 Extended Performance is an AN blend based oil. That makes it epic good, a true high thermal stability oil. It provides a, complete lack of varnish/carbon build up on piston ring lands and piston oil drain holes. The Mobil 1 ESP oil is a favorite here at BITOG with its higher HTHS...

Yes the GT235 will get pressed into mowing duty here pretty quickly. However I know it's only twice as fast as my commercial push mower. So we are still looking at hours of mowing with its 42 inch deck. On marketplace there is a Deere 1025 with small backhoe, loader and 60in mower deck. That...

The lawn is simply going to be cut short to keep bugs/ticks down as a place for the dog and view. I'll keep the yard maintained free of debris. Not to have something perfect. It's rough n bumpy now, and a box blade is going to be required to smooth it out. Mowing it with my commercial push mower...
