    Ultra 1 Plus 5w-40 Synthetic

Interesting well it’s not on the API ELOCS directory either.

High Performance Lubricants PCMO 10W-20 VOA

Well it doesn’t meet the cold cranking and pumpability requirements for a 0W rated oil otherwise it would be labeled as such.

    Ethanol vs fuel lines

I can’t imagine they do a whole lot better with E0. There’s a lot of other stuff in any gasoline besides alkanes.

has your data use risen with a 5g phone?

Yes it says 5G UC on my phone and I get 600 to 700 Mbps downloads. Also on our T-Mobile home Internet. So when you posted “There is really no 5g in the US” there actually is.

    Ethanol vs fuel lines

6 months is crazy. Here in southeastern Wisconsin oxygenated fuel has been mandated since the 1990s and none of my OPE has failing fuel hoses anywhere near that. Even my 32 year-old lawn mower has had the hose replaced only once and that’s it. My 21 year-old snow thrower still has original hoses...

    Ethanol vs fuel lines

Are you saying for the fuel in Canada it might have more than 10% EtOH and you wouldn’t know at the pump?

    2014 Ford Escape 2.0L EcoBoost - Motorcraft Full Synthetic 5w-30 - 6K miles

I don’t think anyone has ever posted a UOA with bad “wear numbers” due to fuel dilution.

Oil Manufacturer Data Sheets - compliance codes means safe to use??

I’d think that if it’s safe after the warranty then it’s safe before the warranty expires. I’m not sure why you’re picking on Amsoil here since there are many blenders that essentially state the same thing.

    Ultra 1 Plus 5w-40 Synthetic

The 5W-40 product you are posting about is API CK-4 licensed? I don’t see where any of their full synthetic products have that license.

What is "Plan B" if I can't get Amsoil Z-Rod for My 1990 Corvette ZR-1.

The Porsche A40 approval suggestion is more than appropriate here. It’s a far more demanding requirement than what was the API license you’re referencing. More than one example is available at Walmart for a very reasonable price. Other suggestions in this thread are “experimenting” but this one...

Oil Manufacturer Data Sheets - compliance codes means safe to use??

Actually there can be multiple blenders that ZF lists as acceptable depending on the specific requirement. Whether that's a license or not I don't know but they include Castrol, Fuchs and ExxonMobil.

Oil Manufacturer Data Sheets - compliance codes means safe to use??

Here are a few existing threads on that fluid: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/alternative-fluid-for-chrysler-8-and-9-speed-transmissions-zf-transmission.354134/ https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/zf-8-speed-fluid-poll.344199/...

Oil Manufacturer Data Sheets - compliance codes means safe to use??

I'm a bit unsure what a "compliance code" is, generally there are either licenses, specifications or approvals. Nevertheless in some instances the wording "meets or exceeds" is entirely appropriate, for instance in relation to a material specification such as those that Chrysler typically...

So frustrated right now. Car troubles.

If you say so. Generally if a mount moves it’s a torn or broken isolator. I’ve just never seen a mount that was torn out of a cover.

STP (AutoZone) filter failure almost blew up a customers Jeep yesterday.

You'd never be able to install such a gasket in the first place if it was brittle.

    Ultra 1 Plus 5w-40 Synthetic

Well on the other hand it only claims to "exceed the performance requirements of" API SP but doesn't actually have the license, so who knows. It doesn't claim to meet any other licenses, specifications or approvals. I'd avoid it for that reason alone when you can buy a 5W-40 at Walmart that...

So frustrated right now. Car troubles.

What does "the bracket stripping out of the side cover" mean exactly? No engine or transmission mount is bolted to a "cover", can you post pictures please?
